Heheh, well I meant Alex from Fearful Silence but I reckon you look the right age and build for your impression too!
Then again so do a couple of your Dog Co lads as you have a couple of younger lads as well like Tom who totally look the part.
Edit: One of the good things about doing Hallamshires as our secondary impression is that as a mobilised TA unit their average age was much higher with a lot of guys being well into their 30s.

Ah I'll let you off then mate, thought it was too good to be true
Although unfortunately Tom has left the group and I think it giving WW2 airsofting a break
Not sure how much I can say on the matter so I'll leave it at that!!!

Finally I have something to add to this thread, so here I am in my newly bought british airborne kit.
I'm aware I'm not in shape like a soldier, but I'm working on that
![]()
None of us in PBI (well apart from probably Dean and Alex look like we have any chance of being mistaken for real wwii airborne, we're all pushing the wrong side of 30 and a bit on the lardy side so I wouldnt worry about it.
Your kit looks great btw!
HOW DARE YOU SIR!!! i have been a 30" waist since i was 16 years old, i only went upto a 32-34 after christmas last year
lardy...if i was any thinner, my eyes would be in single file..
( i am however, more worried about my hairline than my waistline...
)
You're right about the "tie". But, the flap goes to the right and the centre of the cap badge should be over your left eye. Easy to do, just put it on your head and pull it over the other way.
Just to be 100% sure here so I don't do anything wrong: The flap covers the two ventilation holes on the right side?
Also, when looking at pictures of other peoples impressions it seems like they have more "volume" in the baret, I did order the largest size they had and it still sits a little tight on me, was just wondering if it needs more "flappyness".
mate, ww2 berets vary from, very chic, to fecking HUGE!!!!, so dont wory about it.
now, GS berets on the other hand are fecking awfull. it seems someone at the war dept had a sences of humour.
I've sewn the corners of mine up the back of the smock. I'm sure I've seen some smocks which have fasteners on the back.

You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
Three or four options.
Most guys cut it off, airlanding hadno use for it as its designed to stop the smock ballooning and rising up full of air on a jump.
You can stitch it or pin it in place
You can also attach one of the poppers to one of the side adjustment poppers....
or you can just wear it as intended and fasten it up. I quite often do that.

I use a safety pin.

I tried that too, but after a few minutes, mine always came undone.

sewed mine into the back of the smock... but if you look online, you will see plenty of pics of airborne /landing troops with them just hanging down.
Tried out my M43 Paratrooper loadout yesterday in light of the Devil's hill game in October. Managed to do full kit challenge all day without taking any equipment off! (1st time for everything) hehe
GBB M1 garand was working a dream, got more kills with it in the first 3 mins of the first game that I did in a year when I previously owned one!

Webby you look mean haha Probably just the light or the contrast against the green jacket but the webbing looks very yellowy!

Could be contrast as it doesnt look too bad compared to the M41/M42s, but its repro webbing
I dont airsoft in my good stuff ![]()

To looking smashing in pictures ![]()
The Carlilse pouch I have on my belt in that pic is an original, still looks quite orange, so prolly just a contrast thing. The colour in the repro garand webbing needs to bleech out a lot, but I've hardly used it so its not had chance to.
My Carbine pouches are repro exept 1, the repro pouches are very similar in colour to the original now.

Damn, Angel - you've lost weight. You looks as thin as a rake.
Makes a change from photobucket.

Gutted you cant be with the squad tomorrow.

My first public outing as a Brit, I know I've got some way to go yet, a lot of that nasty Blanco stuff to try and get the webbing all similar colour, and it's a "captured" German rifle, but it's a start!
