I keep coming back to this photo, it was 1 I found of the 505th PIR when I was originally putting my airborne gear back together for Churchills, when I posted the photos of myself, people were saying that camoflague head covers were not used in the ETO. Where as they werent covers, moreover a section of the camoflaged canopy off the parachute cut up and shoved in the helmet.
Camouflage Helmet covers are indeed not found in the ETO,
And the parachute silk covers are not quite so common I think that every AB unit should have one.
I've only seen that in one other picture to be honest(Point of No Return, M.de Trez).
Of course, now I'll get a bucket load of PM's from people saying they got more pictures

LOL, in fairness to you Flib thats the only photo I have ever seen. I can imagine why they did it though, nothing stands out more than the outline of an OD M1 helmet!
that belt and 2 pistol holsters look un- blankoed too chommers,,,,,, get the wire brush out lol
Heh, sorted!
back to the Brit snipers picture -the answer is probably that they are Canucks from the 1st Canadian Para Bn I understand some of them had access to yank jump boots.....twould make sense, also snipers were a law unto themselves!
