Fantastic news Ash - with the first event out of the way you now have something for the community to build on and there will be no stopping you. You have proved it is possible and its going to work. Onwards and upwards!

Yep. If any of you guys know Chris (Chaos on these forums), he's pretty much been the backbone of the groundswell for a new scene, and if anything memorable and continuous comes from this, it is entirely due to his work. He brought together airsoft players and reenactors, and out here neither scene has the numbers for it to continue or grow. Talking with the guys after the game, I think the next time will be better as the reenactors are now all clued in on airsoft tactics, engagement distances etc, and we can all pitch in to back up Chris' efforts.
Unfortunately I think we only got pre & post game pics, but next time I'm definitely taking time out here and there to get some footage and stills!

Today i've downgraded the MP44 and stripped and stained its stock. Not a lot, but one less thing on the to-do list now!

Have been packing, off to Glastonbury Festival in the morning.

:happydance: :happyclap:

Beatnick, dont forget your sandals :D

just kidding :good:

Beatnik I may be, but just back, has a wonderful time and got myself a 59 denison for £15 among the other goodies into the bargain (more charity shops, vintage shops and army surplus you can shake a stick at!)

To the tune of "Mademoiselle from Armentières"

Napoleons army ran away, As you do
The guard stood firm for Frances Pride, As you do
They said the guard will stand and die
But we heard what their Colonel cried
It wasn't pretty I tell you.

I thought so.

Well, the paint splodges are now dealt with (fabric medium + acrylic paint = covered)

just sort out the zip and it is good to go.

Oh and I replaced the Spring in my K98 to a more civilised power. Weapons for Jed' are now sorted. :D

Hollowed out the stock on my M14 to take manly size batteries. Also picked up the Steel stock to machine up the frontend replacement for the M1 conversion. :good:

Today I finally got to go on my belated 50th birthday present. A 40 minute trial flying lesson in a 1940 Tiger Moth trainer from Shoreham. What an experience, bloody brilliant! A loop with the engine cutting out at top like an old Spit, a barrel roll out over the sea and even got to fly it for about 20 minutes. Absolutely superb, if you can afford the £200, treat yourself to a once in lifetime adrenalin rush.

belated but worth a mention...Yesterday whilst visiting relatives for the weekend. I went to view U-534 on the Mersey just across from Liverpool. Anyone that has in interest in the U-boats this is definately worth a visit. With only 3 U-boats surviving to this day (U-534 included), its a rare experience.

U-534 was raised from the seabed off the Danish coast, as it was thought to house many priceles Nazi artifacts, from High flying members of the Nazi party escaping to Argentina. It was sunk with no lose of life. In the last air to sea battle of ww2, and laid untouched for 50 years.

I took loads of pics so i'll drop them into another thread.

It is pretty cool to look around isn't it, although I beg to differ, there was one loss of life, a young seaman held his breathe before exiting the torpedo tube during his escape, the difference in pressure made his lungs burst. I do recommend it for a look round though...
