Should we be a bit worried as to why the willy was bloody?

Oh dear, Carry On WW2.

Not really today, but 'in recent weeks' I have been sorting out my gear for both Operation Clipper and Kasserine Pass. More scrim on my Mark II, weathered the Sten, had a fiddle with the feed tube on my No. 4 and checked the Bren over.

For Kasserine the mud paint on my Stahlhelm doesn't look to bad at all but I might give it another coat this weekend, my DAK jacket however has been hanging outside for several weeks now, and has it faded even a teeny tiny bit? No. I wonder if it is made of polyester and not cotton! The repeated soakings by rain have at least got all the creases out.

Cheers
Martin

Today I... reposted Wookie's video from the Hokitika CQB event (old mental hospital, hospice, and holiday camp: Hi Di Hi Campers!).
Sadly only three of the guys were in full kit, one went modern, and I was away getting married :(

It seems you guys don't embed youtube videos :/
i'm sure there's some old fashioned photos around somewhere too.

Love this :)

Today I put the finishing touches on my 1928 Thompson using an original stock, butt plate and stock catch.

I thought it'd be much harder than it was but I just used a 16mm wood drill bit and a chisel. Took about half hour to get it sorted.

Cutting the stock catch with hack saw was a different matter. Made me wish I had a vice at home!

Unfortunately the stock catch release has come unstuck and fallen into the stock. Will sort that out next time.-- attachment is not available ---- attachment is not available --

It was good fun and looks a lot better than the king arms stock. The original stock is a nice, deep red colour so I sanded down the grips and restained them to match the stock.

I did buy some tools to convert the receiver to have the bolt on the top like a 1928 should, but I just don't feel confident enough to go through with it. The gun just looks so nice I'd be terrified of bodging it!

Ralph

You'e done a really nice job on that, well done.

For the short magazines, this is what you want, although I don't know if they'll fit your gun. They are TM and fit my CYMA.

http://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/m ... a1-190-rnd

Three in stock.

No point bodging up a conversion if you're not confident about it, and honestly, from six feet away they all just look like guns, the detail is largely irrelevant.

Thanks mate!

I looked at those mags, and they are supposed to fit, but I just worry about using them for ww2 games as I see a lot of the rules say you have to fire hicap on semi auto only, and other games say smgs need to fire full auto.

I do have a spare king arms mag that I was going to experiment on and cut down. We'll see how the goes.

Ralph

Well, they aren't really hi caps as although they claim to be 190 I've never managed to get that many in, they are more like mid-caps, especially if you only put 100 in each.

iirc Josh used to make exceptions for these with his 'hicaps must fire semi auto' rule. The really silly hi-caps are the 500+ round ones.

Cheers
Martin

Ah right, I'll have a chat with some of the organisers and see if they'll let me use them then. I can get about 120-130 in a midcap so 190, if that, doesn't seem too far off.

Still learning the ropes to ww2 airsoft.

Today I purchased the new sony mini action cam with what look like a mini tv on a watch strap (its a wifi view remote so you can see what you are recording or even just take photos & with all the extra accessories you can put the camra anywhere you like.
Tried it out & it's a blinding bit of kit (the dogs bollix as thay say) even connects by wifi to my tablet so I can transfer all recordings before I even leave the battle field.
So the may game will be my tester to see how good it really is so make sure you've all got your makeup on & in your sunday best. :ghey:

Tinkering with a mates MP40 which I did the AK-hop mod for. Having slight feed issues, perhaps too much hop on minimum?

Why do you always carry that umbrella?

Today I used my Thompson for the first time and wow, what a gun! I must say I did take a bit of satisfaction in hitting people with their fancy guns, scopes and lasers. :good:

Also wore my Africa kit for the first time too so I can wear it in for kasserine.

Ralph
