.... spent way to much money on kit i am only going to use once a year! Russian outline sorted!
You did get a bargain though.
Yeah I spotted that deal. It was so very tempting.

Ralph
I suppose I'll have to just get a browning then won't I. If my wife moans at me for getting another gun, I'll blame you!
Maybe if you mention that you can use it for British, Canadian aaaand German you'll be able to talk her round...

She's generally understanding of my hobby, even if she doesn't have a clue what I'm talking about most of the time. When I married her she didn't know what the Cold War was!

Ha ha maybe. I think the only questions she'll ask are "how much was that?" and "Do you really need another gun", then I'll get the stare
I see airsoftworld sell a nice Browning for only £85...

Yeah I'm looking to get a Browning later on in the year, airsoft world seem to be the best price in the UK.
I think that I bore my family and girlfriend half to death with all my little factoids and such, I've even got them all answering questions in exchange for "points" (I haven't told them how or when they can be redeemed though, which seems to wind them up to a level which I find rather funny ), but they seem to humour me.
I don't know if I'd get away with with testing her but at least she know nows a rough history of the Cold War and how the English Electric Lightning could supercruise before it was a cool American buzz word

As TFL's strike kindly allowed me to work from home today, I completed sewing my Gebirgsjäger insignia onto my Bergmütze & DAK tunic.
All ready for Benevento now!
Today I received my Browning hi power in the post. Yay!

Found a pair of size 10 ammo boots in fantastic condition at a heavy metal music festival 'junk clothes' type stall for £10!
Over the past two or three years back at the same stall, I've found a WRAC leather jerkin for £10, a 1945 dated Kangol made 'commando' green beret (genuine dated berets, especially for "gucci" units like para maroon ones or commando green ones go for silly money on eBay!) for £2.50, and a 1944 dated US canvas kit back for £5. I always make visiting that stall my first priority after pitching the tent

Some very nice finds there McVickers.
Got the Hi Power out the box and am starting to have a play. Already I like how it feels in my hand. The weight seems to be in the grips and magazine as opposed to the front of the gun like my colt. When the kids have finished playing in the garden I'll fill it up and start shooting. A few people on Facebook have told it's a useless gun but as long as it shoots I'll be happy... It is a hi power after all
EDIT: Just had a quick go in the garden. It shoots fine to be honest though I do need to adjust the hop. Only seem to get one magazine worth of bb's out of each charge though.

Ralph
today I ordered my DAK trousers in preparation to the hot weather next weekend. The nettles might have a field day but ill at least be cool........one point to me I think, who's laughing now nettles
Have sorted out what appears to be a mini-mountain of gear for next weekend. I'm sure I usually travel lighter than this?
Cheers

Granger, the WE Hi-power doesn't have a hop up. You can fashion something to it but nothing out the box.
Why do you always carry that umbrella?
-Bad memory. Never could remember the password. Knew no Jerry would carry one. Had to prove I was an Englishman, you see.
A bridge too far
I think it actually does, but you have to strip the gun down and adjust a grub screw with an Allen key or something like that. The earlier ones weren't provided with said grub screw, but airsoft world make a point to say they they do now have a hop up in the page title.

This. Bit of a pain to get to but it is there.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the grub screw is beneath the barrel? I heard it works a bit with the screw, but still not a proper hop up.

Yes I believe you are correct. Not a conventional hop by any means but it works better than nothing. From the reviews that I've read it's actually fairly decent.
Ach, I must try it then. Any idea what size of a grub screw it is?
