Today I started trying to put big wire in the small spaces of the MG42 pistol grip.
Discovered that I am in the free copy of Guns mart that was given away at War and Peace:
These forums get a mention as a result (although they got the url slightly wrong) and Dadio's work is called 'very convincing'
Well done that man!
Finally got my webley to be site legal and now getting all my paratrooper kit ready for skirmishing next month. Bring on the Hi cap heroes!

Ralph
Today I finished putting away all my stuff from the weekend, and started sorting kit out for King Zog. Many thanks to Charlie for explaining which round to wear the chest mounted gas mask bag!
Cheers

Today I popped down the farm to see my father and the Vickers .303 he's building. Giving a hand into the feeding issues. Hefty beast though. Hopefully it'll be combat ready soon...

Sounds beautiful! Do you think it'll be ready for Loose Cannon?

Really hoping so. Its nearly there, need to solve the issue of the air pressure popping the rounds out the gravity feed. Prefer not to use a magazine feed as its big enough to carry as it is.

Yeah I can imagine! Looking forward to seeing it in action.

I fitted the internals from a G3 hi-cap magazine into mine, though I suppose the space between the rear of the gearbox and the rear of the receiver with the spade grips and trigger all depends on what gearbox you're using in it. Mine's running a Ver1 (FA-MAS, etc...), for shear reliability and RoF - though spares for these are far harder to find!

Got back from holiday today to find my reproduction fairbairn sykes knife waiting for me. Also I'm feeling inspired to get my Lee Enfield working nicely before I'm back at uni next week (and have no more time for such luxuries).

Ordered the last few bits I needed for my DAK kit today..........urr just in Tim for summer to end doh
I got a job
After 3 months of near financial ruin, I should finally have some money again. Sadly it comes too late for all the games I really wanted to attend over the summer but I have had fun doing more re-enactment to keep busy.
I will be earning a lot more than I used to and will have weekends free. This means you should be seeing me at more games.

Well done! Looking forward to seeing you at some games. Loose Cannon?

Loose cannon is a definite possibility. Can't book anything until I get paid though.
I have ordered a marksman trade badge as a small celebration. The brass WW1 style, which is correct for early WW2 Australian. Should look good on my service dress
Today I'm off to Clacton Airshow to watch some ww2 planes and also the last appearance of the Vulcan. Fingers crossed the weather holds out. Particularly interested in seeing the b-17 as I've never seen one flying before.
Regards,
Ralph
Ahhh the Vulcan i'll miss it
Had a great day today, the vulcan was impressive as always and fingers crossed she'll be back one day, enjoyed seeing the mig-15 and b-17 flying for the first time. It was a shame that the Lancaster was undergoing maintenance today though I did get a good view of the hurricane literally screaming over my head which made up for it.

...and also the last appearance of the Vulcan.
But the last appearance of the Vulcan is to be at Victory Show on Sunday 6th September, no?
And it's also appearing at Rhyl Airshow this coming Saturday too?

I meant the last appearance at Clacton. It's still got a lot of dates flying this year but for me, I won't get to see it again.

It would seem I celebrated the new job too soon. It was a scam. I should be able to get the money back that I forked out for a CRB check. The things I would like to do to the scam artists....
I have a Job interview on Tuesday though, which fortunately I didn't cancel.
