...put a "Jäger Pinch" in my M43 cap!

“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."
Adolf Hitler, November 1942

"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."

No, "Jäger Pinch" is apparently the correct term for the pinch commonly put on the "prow" of the feldmutze.

I dont have any plans to badge up as Jäger ATM.

Today I managed to snap off my plastic bayonet handle - I think it was brittle because of the cold. :(

Today, I found out that I will never fully recover from my catalogue of back injuries! I had an MRI scan just before christmas and I now have the results. Looks like I'll have to economise on how much kit I carry at games and also make some changes to my lifestyle in general. Not a very good start to 2009!

On a positive note, today I also received holiday brochures for my planned trip to New Zealand later this year! :good:

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

Sorry to hear about the back Pete :(

Today I... got up with a heavy heart with no cat to wake me up. The poor old thing (15) died in my arms yesterday afternoon. Bit of a pisser on my daughter's 18th birthday. Sounds odd but I don't have problems with animals dying (or people come to that) as long as they don't suffer. Marmalade didn't, was poorly for five days or so, but wasn't suffering. A bit of my life gone though - I talked to the cat more than the wife!

10+ years on from my cat dying and I still miss it. It doesn't help that I now know that I have a fairly severe cat allergy and hence will never be able to own another.

I've had two cat-astrophes in the past year or so - both young 'uns. RIP all cats. Best way to get over it is to get another one straight away (if you can). In fact, getting two kittens is the best way - they scratch each other and not you!

If only that had been an option! Right now I can't be in the same room as a cat or even sit where a cat has been sitting without getting streaming eyes, etc...

Sorry to hear about the cat CW ...I know that feeling well .

Did think that given the number of cat lovers/ pics that get posted we ought to have a thread in off topic for cat pics alone . Would confuse the Daily Mail journos if nothing else !
