Nothing serious. Just explaining the situation and asking for any opinions on if its possible for a non-site org to be a part of the UKARA thing. Im not going to start championing a cause just yet so no need to fret. ![]()
No longer involved in airsoft.
Nah... its just useful to have the context under which the reply was written... ![]()
The UKARA scheme is not law - Nothing binding. It's a voluntary scheme and - take this how you will anyone reading it from UKARA - it means nothing in law.
IF they refused to sell to you and you could show a valid defence elsewhere - then it could be seen as protectionism or even restrictive practice.
I'm at pains to say I do not see any ulterior motive to UKARA's registration scheme and think it a very positive and effective attempt to self regulate... OK?
But - what is to actually stop you forming a club? PROVING it is for airsofters and conforming to what the Home Office gives as a defence?
It's not circumvention - It's not exploiting loopholes - It's conforming with a legal requirement and it's showing responsibility and drive to preserve your sport/hobby/passion as is your right.
Debate it all you want - It's there for you.... and not my job to champion it - Don't shoot the messenger.

Umm nothing ... thats why we're discussing it.
I would also point out that getting on board with UKARA is not a legal requirement no, but it doesn't hurt and eases certain processes.
Theres no rush here mate ![]()

I just went on zero one and it says you have to be regestered and over 18 to buy annything remotely airsoft related even mags and goggles ? so what do i do ?
surely you mean over 18 DT ? might want to edit your post and a mod remove this one
don't want anyone misreading it.

Eh? That's rubbish! And I can't find anything that says that even - could you provide a link?

not really its in the checkout when you go to buy somthing it says it.
Ah... that may have always been there...
How do you mean does this mean i cant even buy magazines now ?
I mean that I think they always had something like that in place... Just something they did.
Some of the airsoft suppliers never would supply to people "under-age" in the past, even before the VCR... it may date back to then...
I may be wrong, mind! Its a while since I used Zero One and even longer since I was "under-age"!
Certainly the VCR did not introduce this...
im not worried about the under age bit it's the you need to be a rigistered skirmisher i dont like because im not.
Simple go elsewhere...
Zero One (despite what they may think) do not have a monopoly.
shall i try airsoft armory then because it says only guns on that one ?
Best bet is to phone Neil or Dan at Zero 1 directly.

Well shall i try Airsoft armory because im only after some Thompson mags and they are £1 cheaper on AA so are they a reliable website because i have never used them before and P&P from zero one kills.
I'd ring AA up and order by phone...
But they are good!
Nah i hate ordering by phone i always think i got somthing wrong
, so il just order from their website. ![]()
meh... I find I get more stuff right by ordering by phone... plus you can really get a proper stock check!

Yith is on the ball there. I could name half a dozen retailers in the UK (Airsoft and Reenactment suppliers) that you should ALWAYS phone up to make sure they actually have the stuff in stock!
