28/29 march
The road to rome.
Would you agree with me (thats if you attended the game) the bar has been lifted after this weekend.
Josh Gunman has delivered with the help of his crew & players that attended an epic mind blowing day with more fairplay than i've seen put together with some heroic hollywood death crys & by far the most pyro I have ever seen go off in any one event not just ww2 but any airsoft game.
Is this down to the organizers & players throwing more effort into the game becouse if so it worked & this I think is what we needed to take this hobby of our forward.
Mybe if someone found a cheaper outlet or supplier to get all our pyro from we could all chip in & buy more so that we could end up with every game having as much pyro going off during the game as we did this weekend.
This makes a much better atmosphere & encourages people to immerse themselfs into the game more.
Am I mad or crazy for loving games with an immense amount of pyro of all kinds?
Cheers
Just one persons opinion
Peter.

There's many different styles of game and each has an appeal on a different level and to different people , on the cost of pyro I'm sure if it was purchased in bulk it could be cheaper but it is hard to store if it's not used .

armoury
m1a1 Thompson,sten mk2,mp40,stg44,sterling,mk2 bren gun,lee Enfield no4 mk1,Mauser Kar98, Walther ppk,smith and Weston m10 and Mauser m712
Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......
a problem shared is a problem halved ,but an advantage shared is no advantage at all
if a job's not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well

I agree completely. It really does depend upon the setting and what the organiser is trying to achieve. From our perspective though(34th games) pyros are a game enhancer not a revenue stream. If we can do them cheap we do.

I do agree with what you all are saying but I was just pointing out that the game at the weekend was to me a bar raiser & not just becouse of the amount of pyro let off but for the effort & roll play from all the players.
I think that becouse you could hear so much pyro going off all day it encouraged the players just that bit more even myself.
As for the pyro I know not everyone can afford to buy alot of pyro as some of the games can be costly after you add on food, any extra bits & fuel which can add up if you travel a long way.
I enjoyed myself on saturday due to plenty of players & pyro plus the added bonus of all the roll play even the weather was good for us but the sunday was a different story bad weather less players (because of the weather) but we still had a game on & by getting together & saying yes we will still play & im not trying to make myself a hero or lots of new mates but becouse I had over half a box of pyro left before we entered the field I gave everyone some smoke & something that went bang which was good becouse we had 2 hours of excellent fighting before we called it a day.
In turn this encourages player to have a goodtime & try to make the next game that thay can get to or time off work for.
We all know that not everyone can make it to every game due to other commitments or it's just to far to travel even I will only travel so far for a game or have to work some weekends.
Thats it im not saying anymore as I don't know when to stop going on weather it's good or bad even my wife will tale me to stop going on.
Cheers

I must admit the sound the Nebelwerfer made was bloody intimidating! I enjoyed the whole day and a lot of that was down to the effort put in by the organisers and the players. It all came together very well which is what made it a damn good reason to get up at 5am on a Saturday!

The road to Rome wasn't first ww2 airsoft event I attended so my view is not all that balanced, I was there only on the Saturday and I must say I had a fantastic day, all the pyro including the mighty nebelwerfer just enhanced the whole experience and made roll play and immersion all the more easier

So it would be good to say the more effort everyone puts into a game will encourag others to do the same & end up talking about the event for longer & maybe encourage more people to try ww2 airsoft which is what this hobby needs more players & support to keep going forward.

Cheers Jerry :good: Indeed it was an epic battle both days and to be honest, were very lucky to have such a high level of player in the WW2 scene. We have run about 30 odd WW2 games now and have always been lucky with our turn out and support from the community. The difference and flavour of all the events run is what makes the WW2 scene still so fresh and fun. Gunman concentrates on battles and fixed scenarios that are normally combat heavy, or atleast combat expectant, but some of the combat light games can be just as immersive, if not more :good:

Cheers all for being so awesome

Yes Josh
I'm not putting any of your games down but I have played some modern games of yours with less action & less pyro but that doesn't mean I didn't like them, thay were a different kind of game.
I'm not a big player on this scene as I can only make it to the games plaid in the south when I can get the time off work but my boss knows what I do for a hobby & will work with me to give me the weekends off that I book on for.
I think i'm a good player tactically & play fair as do most players if not all at the games i've been to.
The only bad thing I can say about ww2 airsoft games is ME!! to myself well not me mentally I just tend to blow way to much cash on pyro but my wife is so loving & understanding that she always makes sure I have plenty of chocolate & pyro & that I end up having a bloody good time.
I think some of you will know this by now if you've played with me more than once & i'm probably the most laid-back & kind hearted person you could know
Cheers
Peter
