My wife has expressed a tentative interest in attending an airsoft event - she's not entirely new to the experience as some years ago she did some skirmishing at a private site.

So, am looking for info to respond to her with. The only female "WW2" participants I'm presently aware of are Annie (of Barry & Annie) and Helga. Wife's interest are common with mine (well that's what I tell her and she let's me believe!) so that'd be Brit Airborne and associated forces. I'm not yet convinced that I'll see her cross-dressing in green and as she already does a bit of WW2 civilian living history the French or Dutch Resistance role springs to mind.

Perhaps something like the madamoiselle in this Maquis unit, photographed in Sept 1944*:

Have any other ladies participated in a Resistance role, either at CIA or other formalised WW2 events or at walk-on Open Days?

Would be glad for views, advice, etc.

Cheers

Woodlander (Steve)

One of the things that I really like about CiA events is the inclusion of partisan/resistance/militia players. It's really adds to the atmosphere of a game and provides a great opportunity for people to play "in character" without forking out a load of cash on gear. I think your missus would enjoy herself tremendously if she came along :D

Headshot's young lady had a character role at Eagle if I remember right.

I really enjoyed talking to Kirsten 'round the fire' at Bryansk.

Shame Steve, Kirsten, me and co couldn't meet up on the banks of the Elbe this summer

Want to do it, but haven't as yet. You forgot Marsha G.I Jane in her spare time 8) Anne so far has done Brit, Yank and Ruskie, I however have only done Axis. No other female regulary plays with CiA, sad really be nice to have more girls on board.

If she wants to do partisan/resistance at a game when theres an opening for it, I'll book me in as one too (well I will anyways cos I want to).

what size is she if its not rude to ask, I've poss got kit I can lend out thats intentionally been bought for either airsofting or on the wintery tuff side of reenacting (like wool trews I was going to wear at bryansk police issue, that will now be Reichsbahn at Levisham) means she don't have to worry about trashing something as I kinda like that appeal post softing for reenactment ;) think they say the lived in look

Che's working in London atm so I can't get to that game  and I'd fancied doing Yank once just to say I had even if it meant borrowing webby's pantaloooooooooons. There be other games along the way, just give me a hollar and so long as it doesn't involve me driving more than 5 hours (thats my peak without a stop off/sleep in between or I start to get bored vision and loose concentration) I'm game :good:

Is Che going to the game? I can give him a lift to/from London if he needs one. Not much use to you I know but at least he could tell you all about it when he gets back :D

Good idea, Martin - perhaps you could ask Che to look after your keys as well!

Ah, not so bothered about the keys. With the state of my place after the 2 urchins have been rampaging for a couple hours it looks like I've already been burgled.
