I was thinking about this today and, compared with what things were like when CiA first started, how different things are today. Why? Well, I'll expand on it a bit..
1) Variety of games - There are so many people putting on WW2 events now, that cater for all tastes, levels of kit and levels of realism.
2)Variety of weapons - When things began, there was the TM Thompson and, er, not a lot else. Now, particularly with the Chinese manufacturers, we have access to a wide variety of well made, well priced guns. Add to the mix all of the custom gun makers and you really have a staggering choice compared to 3 years ago.
3)Kit - There are so many people offering WW2 gear now, it's unbelievable. Something for every budget too.
4)Information - It's now much easier to find out what you're looking for. With several WW2 airsoft forums, you're never more than a few mouse clicks away from sourcing equipment, weapons, ideas on how to improve your kit, or upcoming events.
See what I mean? A lot of people complain about "elitism" or expense but, really, you really never have had it so good in WW2 airsoft terms, in my opinion!

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
I'll add to the list:
5) Number of players willing to attend events and adapt to scenarios. Who would have dreamed of running an eastern front game which had 30-odd Red Army players attending?
it has come a long way, and can hopefully only get better
unfortuantly my "time off" to go to events gets ever shorter ![]()

Yeah, look at the team pics from the 1st game, the US side is pretty much all thompsons!

Once a chinese manufacturer gets off their backsides and produces decent quality WW2 Bolt Actions at a better price, you'll be laughing

Children are our future, unless we act NOW!

I think 90 per cent of people were using thompsons.
Allied *and* Axis!

Yep, for SMGs the scene is well serverd. For everything else, it is a bit lacking.
Even an affordable generic full length stock bolt action rifle would be a great leap forward, but what I have seen is short fore stocked sporting versions or sniper specials.
It is certainly better than it was.
To the tune of "Mademoiselle from Armentières"
Napoleons army ran away, As you do
The guard stood firm for Frances Pride, As you do
They said the guard will stand and die
But we heard what their Colonel cried
It wasn't pretty I tell you.
