Having read through the intel and objectives list i just have a couple of questions:
1) Is the objective list linear? for example does everyone need to be on the initial defence of the entrance? or would we be better advised having a fuhrer's guard unit move him safely into the complex and start looking for the other items?
2) Will we have any comms available between whatever units we set up? Jus be good to know between us where the fuhrer is being guarded or what areas have been investigated etc.
The Fuhrers guard commander will have a radio, as will the garrison commander, but its line of site down there, you wont transmit through the rock, but you can talk down a tunnel.
The initial defence will have every German in the line OUTSIDE, the Americans will have to work very hard to get in, but that's why theve got two armoured vehicles.
once were inside , squad commanders will issue instructions as they come down from the top, the objectives depend on what the americans are doing at the time.
Ideally they wont even get in, but they probably will, as for inside the tunnels both sides will have the same advantages, it will be down to the skill of commanders and players as to who carries the day

good sound 2 pence worth
Im trying to get players involved in making decisions in game, and thats the exact kind of tactical thinking i was hoping for so a very good 2 pence indeed,
Anyone can feel free to add ideas,

hit them from behind, they dont like it up em you know
Excellent Thanks for the clarification JP.
There is one factor that i believe can be overlooked, the dark! from last time at the tunnels when we were moving into the darker areas shinning torches to see where we were going only to walk in a multi point assault of crafty sods just sitting in the dark waiting.
So drag them in then cut them down!!
Also really try and get a head arround the map maybe it may be worth if we number up the map grid or something can really help.
i know the 4 main tunnels and gallerys very well, its the bombed area i had trouble with, but it should be more open now after the "bombing"

What do we have readily available to knock out Ami amoured vehicles?
look in the molotovs thread in the main Fuhrer game section

the splitting of the map into co-ordinates is a good idea and mr CW will probably do this.
from the times ive played in the tunnels, we have a number of advantages which we must take advantage of.
1. a map
2. enough darkness to hide a force 10x our size.
3. the ability to set ambushes anywhere
4.grenades, devastating on forces who bunch up
5. the ability to hit them in the rear once they advance in, unless they leave troops at key points, but this will reduce the size of the force accompanying the armour vehicles.
6.they are yanks, have you ever met a quiet yank?????
7.do we have anything to create trip wire grenades?????? would be nice but not a necessity.
8. the key to the tunnels is silence and minimual use of lighting
9. if we use hit and run tactics we will slow them damn at least.
so many things in our advantage - we must use them - should be great fun.
i will provide a command wire and electronically detonated explosives.
I would need a 3 man German sapper team for this, so i can train you in its use ( i would have to train you on Saturday night, so only volunteer if your sleeping over)
Any volunteers ?
stealth and predicticing the enemy's movement is the key to using this.

From memory it can be quite hard to recognise your own troops in the dark areas of the tunnels, should we agree on a challenge / response so that we can recognise friendly troops?
German
Russian
British
Japanese
The challenge password will be given on the day to both teams 2 mins before game on. Letting everyone know too soon could result in a leak, also im doing the final site visiit this sunday, so i will get a better map

hi all I’m new so i have some properly dumb or annoying questions for you all but here i go :-
right from the video of the last amazing event held at the tunnels its clear to see that its wonderfully dark and sneaky but there will be the inevitable time where I will need a torch. so I had a look in some of the books around my house and then Google and over at the wehrmacht-awards forum http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/showthread.php?t=258403&page=3 . the original ones are rather expensive and the ones i have found on eBay well the sellers are not saying if they work or not so i found these Swedish ones that sort of look ok and work.
Ex 2 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170881585582
Yes there green and ugly plastic
Or would this one be a better match http://tinyurl.com/ddrtorch
That one is black and looks like the ones in the W-awards forum donno if it would arrive in time
Or am I just over thinking this and I should just grab a cheap pound land one and just keep it out of sight when not used

Ok food, drink and rest time. I’m guessing that it’s an all day rolling battle is it a case of grab some munch when you’re dead if you can? Or it it fitted in to the battle that squad y nips off to munch and go back into the fight at x point and so on? I don’t know as the @ tactical days’ I have played we still had the lunch break (showing my newness here >_< )
Now I always wear a lower mesh mask for both woodland and CQB have done for 2 years after getting shot in the teeth 4 times in one day. Is this ok for ww2? Or am I going to have to brave without it?
All I can think of at the moment
Thanks for your time
On my phone so sorry for brief answers
Poundland torch is fine, as you said in lit up areas dont use it, hide it
Food can be carried or left at your base, eat in game, or tell commander your having some food and go bacck to the safe zone when you like, game will run right through as lots of people eat in game
Facemasks, a devisive issue, some dont mind, some will burn you at the stake.
Its a personal choice, i never use one, but im an idiot whose lost half a front tooth and i dont care.
If you want to use one its fine, i do respect people who want to play it safe.

im guessing we are going to be in 3 man teams in a 3 team unit run by 1 CO?
or something like that?
Its in one of the posts, (on phone cant browse well at mo) two german units
The unit commander will task you as squads, usually in groups of five to 10 men, as it takes a minimum of 5 to capture anything, ill post a final big dteail breif tonight at home

Are the compass points on the map correct or were they just included to make the map look good?? if they are accurate we have a decent compass we can bring!
i honestly dont know about compass points.
theres loads of metal and shite underground so it may throw the compass reading out a bit ?
