July 01 1944 ‘Operation Jupiter’
Can the Allied effort recapture Hill 112 and escort the convoy of supply vehicles and Artillery to its summit, ready to support yet another Action on the Town of Caen. The road to Hill 112 is long and filled with German ambushes and dug in, fixed positions. There is only one route that can be taken and every CP must be captured and secured along its journey.
D-Day scenario.
This is a Brit vs German battle but as always US players are still able to take part and will be put together as an attached US force under a US commander.
For those that wish to badge up correctly for the British its was the 43rd Wessex Infantry Division that took the main for this operation.
Leading the way is the now renowned and decorated 47 Commando, this is a woodland battle with long roads, fixed bunkers, vehicles, armour, artillery, anti-tank guns and CPs to be captured. A hard fight ahead is suspected so be ready for an epic battle. Due to the size and distance of the site you must carry all you need for a days war, there will be trucks for water on both sides.
Saturday’s battle 12.00pm will take the allies on a long journey of guts and glory to Hill 112, but the favour is on the Germans side. If the allied effort can capture the hill, there’s no guarantee they can keep hold of it. End ex will be know later than 7pm.
Sunday will be a continuation of Saturday, however, which ever side controls two of the three gun positions by 2.00pm on Sunday will take the victory!
As always Saturday will feature a social at ‘A fine Mess’ with beer and grub.
Rules Update.
D-Day events no longer allow wind on mags, and all weapons must be ‘Period Weapons’, only exception is on bolt action rifles and support weapons.

Battle plan for the road to Caen.
Allies
After a number of failed attempts to clear the road and take hill 112, Monty’s has finally released enough troops to make one last push and take this important position for the allies planned assault and liberation of the town of Caen. If the hill can be taken, the British artillery can be positioned and give support to the main town assault. To do this many obstacles must be cleared, MG and anti tank bunkers, anti tank and personnel mines need to be cleared, tank traps need to be blown and the convoy of supply trucks being brought up from the rear need to be protected.
Hill 112 sits at the top of a valley and has 2 other hills that have been set up to counter any movement along the treacherous roads, all of these obstacles need to be cleared and neutralized. The battle for Caen will take place whether hill 112 is in Allied hands or not, but the consequences for not achieving this could be disastrous.
Objectives• Protect the supply convoy.
• Neutralize MG and anti-tank bunkers.
• Give the engineers cover to remove mines and blow tank traps.
• Capture Axis CP’s to use as re-supply posts.
• Knock out the other two posts on Hill 112s sister hills.
• Capture hill 112 and control 2 of the 3 artillery platforms.
• Bring up the big Guns.
Axis
The Allies have made a number of failed attempts to capture the strategically position of hill 112, but so far the dogged determination and experienced Wehrmacht and SS troops, who have proved more than a match for the less experience British troops. Trying almost in vain to break the German grip of Caen and its region, many British soldiers now lay across and unforgiving battle field and only the overwhelming push of this new offensive might be able to break their ranks.
Intelligence h as shown this new offensive to be the largest yet and the Brits have brought in some help from a few US units, for the Germans this is a battle for time, re-enforcements are on their way from the town and if the key position of hill 112 can be protected long enough for the fresh troops to arrive, the war could take a turn and give the Fuhrers armies a chance to force an offensive big enough to push the allies back to the sea and this time there won’t be a repeat of Dunkirk.
Objectives
• Hold Hill 112 till 1pm Sunday.
• Hold onto as many of the key positions as possible.
• Destroy as many supply trucks as possible.
• Destroy the big guns being towed if possible.
• Kill as many Allies as possible and force a retreat, if the cost of lives becomes too high the Allied command will have to fall back and re-group which will put pressure on Monty’s plan to take the town of Caen.
please only post Qs about this game here.
