Tempted to get a wind jacket for my GJ impression but just wondering how thin it is and if people think I'd get away wearing one for the may game (possibly without tunic).
Any help is appreciated
Regards,
Ralph
winter nice with wools, if not nice without wools, not bad quality and quite comfy

They are pretty thin, I think
I've been at a re-enactment event where someone has worn one, without wools, in August and was comfortable..... Unlike me in the woollen Jacket

Well that's me sold on one. I'll have to get a ruck sack too
Now do I go the whole hog and get the matching trousers too?

Rope is a must and iconic and doesn`t cost that much if a few of you get together and buy a decent length

I'll definitely get some rope. I found some info that 10-12mm thickness at 30-40m length was the most common. Can anyone confirm this?
Also, are we allowed to carry real steel pick axes in the field?

Ralph

10mm hemp rope at 40m seems to be most commonly referenced.
As for the carrying around a steel climbing axe, I'll leave that to the organisers . I could always try and make us a foam based one Ralph?

Ha ha well I suppose maybe real pick axes would be a no. I did try to find a larp ice axe or Piton hammer but no luck. I'd definitely be up for a foam axe though if you're up for making some!

I was also thinking of finally taking the plunge and getting a GJ jacket. The only place with them in stock seems to be Hiki at the moment, but the sizes look absolutely enormous (is Medium really a 50" chest?? ). Any sizing advice would be welcome, but I know from experience that Hiki sizes are all over the place.
I'm 6'2", 40" chest so I'm guessing a Medium or a Large as it has to go over the wool jacket.

Thanks Chef, that was what I suspected. We're both about the same size so I'll go for a medium.
