The GrossDeutschland was an elite division, which quite a few of us portray.

That's my bling jacket  but all that is required is the GrossDeutschland cuff title (to be worn on right arm, 15cm above the cuff, but clear of cuff pleats) and the GrossDeutschland shoulderboards. Dark green or grey with embroidered GD in white. (Officers have metal GD badge on theirs.) The white piping signifies infantry.

GD were an elite unit and got a fair pile of the gucci kit, but only really saw action on the eastern front. Are there enough soviet airsofters to warrant a re-badge to GD?
Or is that not too important for airsoft purposes?

This has been discussed at length a few times, however in answer to your question, no it's not really too important as far as airsoft is concerned , we can stretch our imaginations a bit to assume that not everyone who wore a GD cuff title was banned from coming further West than Kiev for the entire war , and yes there is an Ostfront game looming
Anyway isn't it about time you came and saw what airsofts all about?, I'd like to think even a man of your high standards might be pleasantly surprised

He has..... just not with us ;) but yes its definately time he came for a play and showed us how its done properly ;)

PS I thought this was just a subsection of one type of landser you "could" portray rather than what the group is about ? though I'm going on what I have assumed ?

However the reasoning on action (that and my M44 ensemble) was part of my reasoning for doing something different, and why I've chose FJ they way I have to give me more timescale to work with (as much as can be what with being an inaccurate gurlie gurl pants).

I'd love to come to one of your events only, every time you have one booked, I'm away with my work. Take the Matlock battle 16th this month, I go to Eire on 12th, fly back....yup morning of 16th.
I was booked in and paid up for one of your early events, work took me away.
I've been to several games with the Airsoft Commando boys in yorkshire, mostly in WW2 kit, I did a lot of the thursday CQB stuff at Lindsey airsoft at manby, in WW2 kit. I've played the game.
My take on the game might be at odds with yours. I see airsoft weapons as a potential benefit to re-enactors as a tool for training and battles. CiA seems to be airsoft with a WW2 theme. Not the same but not exclusive of one another. There is no reason enjoying one would make the other unpleasant.
There is talk of some more pyro at events, barrages and the like. You might see me then, I do some pyro work for battles. The multitude of uniforms [which seems to intrigue Dink] means I can be embeded with any nation for pyro work and not stick out. Been to beltring? Good pyro but you can spot the guys running it miles off.

Hmm- I know Airsoft Commando , you're not that far away at all. :D I suppose to a degree we are airsoft with hopefully a strong WWII theme, and it's also quite a strong MILSIM theme if you follow the airsoft vocabulary . It's not, as you rightly identify, reenactment per se , in that there is no audience we are performing to , it is done for the enjoyment of the partcipants.
Anyway I'm glad that you'd consider coming to one of our events :D and hopefully we'll get a date that you can make sometime .
