Hi Folks,
Just picked up a M42 Tunic which i'm useing to create a Heer infantry kit. Nothing fancy just a basic footslogger.
Obviously not much needed in the way of insignia for this one, shoulder boards, chest eagle and finally the collar tabs. Its the tabs i need advice on, looking on sites like 'Epic' there appear to be a number of options.
So quite simply which collar tabs would be useable on a M42, are some to early for this type, which tabs would be best for a 42-43 mid war look?
Cheers guys
I prefer the look of the mounted collar tabs but went for the EM 2nd pattern 'generic' waffenfarbe ones rather than infantry specific ones on my main jacket as they are suitable for mid war but will also do for early war (and late).
Cheers

There isn't really such a thing as too early as stuff got recycled but as Martin says generic, preferably unmounted, litzen are your best bet. They're not only the more common for mid/late war but it also mean you can change branch just by changing the shoulderboards.
Good advice, go generic with the litzen and you only need to swap shoulder boards and you can take on almost any role.
These are the mid-war on tabs;

These are actually the early generic, it is doubtful that grenadiers ever had waffen farbe specific litzen. They were formed after the practice had been given up.
