hello there!
im completely new to the ww2 airsoft scene, tho ive been vietnam 'softing for quite a while now
interested in doing a german loadout, tho im abit lost in the amount of uniforms
its a toss up between generic german heer infantry man and some form of panzer loadout
first of all, is there some form of resource with images off all the different types of uniforms etc?
secondly, i like the idea of the camo (specially as im an airsofter) what types were available to heer/panzer divisions?
any advice would be most welcome
thanks very much guys
Hiya, there are some Kit guides at the top of the page in the menu bar, including a generic Heer infantry one.
I'd suggest that as a good starter one, as Panzer is quite a niche uniform, and so you'd get much more use out of a Heer loadout! Plus there's plenty of crossover with the gear, if you wanted to get a panzer tunic in the future.
and welcome! ![]()
thanks very much. so generic would be best? ive had a look at that guide, its very helpful.
the camo smocks? who/what would wear them? i know the Waffen SS wore alot, but would an infantry man wear something like tan and water etc?
edit: also, i have heard mixed reviews about the spearhead stuff, what sort of quality is this stuff?
Hello and welcome.
When I started doing WWII German, I bought a camo smock and helmet cover. I don't think I ever wore them. The average Heer soldier would have only had his Zeltbahn (tent quarter) as camouflage, so to save yourself money and for a more accurate impression, fieldgrey uniform is the best bet.

excellent, that gets rid of that one, so what about the spearhead militia stuff? it seems very reasonable, im just a little worried bout the qaulity vs the more expensive stuff on epic and sof?
Depends on your budget, and how long you think you'll be doing it for. I got my first Feldgrau wools off Spearhead, but I eventually replaced them because they were quite thin.
If you want to buy from the UK, then Epic is a good place. If you want to buy from China, then www.reenactment-box.com is my recommendation.
Just a word about the fit - many people get tunics that are far too big. The sleeves should come down to the wristbone, not the thumb, so choose a snug fit around the chest and hopefully it will be the right size.

Exactly the same for me. Spearhead ones will last you a few events easily, and let you see if you enjoy the style etc. The trousers go quicker than the tunics, so you can always replace them when they go and eventually get a better tunic when you get round to it.
Plus worn out, threadbare gear can look cool, anyway. ![]()
thanks for that. what is the stuff from militaria.net like?

(i hope linking is ok on this forum, if not, sorry)
seems fairly good value, on the face of it?
sorry if this is all very dull! sure youve all heard it before but i really appreaciate the help
Yep, Anthony at militaria net is also a good UK supplier. I would recommend the M36 or M40 uniform set - that would allow you to portray pretty much all years of the war.

Anthony has his own section on this forum viewforum.php?f=52
There's also Chris of Northern Militeria viewforum.php?f=35
