Although there is a wide scope of kit that's acceptable for the Brits at the Giogo Pass event it really would be super if we could get as many of us in MKII lids as possible.

So..

If you have one or more to spare then please step up and post the hat size. If you'd like to borrow one please post your head size. This way we can...oh, you know how it goes :D

I've put this in the general section as there may be peeps who aren't coming to the game that are still geographically able to loan kit to our guys beforehand.

If you are already sorted then no need to post.

Lender/...Borrower
Mc Vic /...Wladek
Mc Vic /...Lipton
Dadio/.....
Ramsay/..Fremsley

I always use Neatsfoot oil. about £5 for a tin from Scatts or Go-Outdoors

“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."
Adolf Hitler, November 1942

"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."
Joseph Stalin, November 1942

As far as I'm aware ww2 british liners were some type of man made material so I'm wouldn't think any leather treatment will help

Generally by the time they go dry and brittle the material is pretty well beyond repair, and it is man made, leather treatments will not soak in .Either SoF for a new one or do some inventive glueing and sewing with black vinyl to make your own replica, which from my experience of the SoF ones ,can't be much worse.

As stated in a previous post, I've two that can be lent out - and they may already have people who've bagsed them.

If you could bring one along stof - don't want you too loaded down - it would be much appreciated. I tried the Sof ones at Overlord - they just didnt feel right at all despite trying two different sizes.

I don't know if in that last passage Stof was offering to bring anything along, but on another hand, I've got quite a lot of materials that I could bring along for you to try to knock up a repro liner/re-line you original liner from...

Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......
a problem shared is a problem halved ,but an advantage shared is no advantage at all
if a job's not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well

I can bring a MK II helmet in service brown. A 7 1/2" liner and a huge 61/62 cm repro liner.

yes they do ;)

Had a check of the liner sizes, and one definitely is a 56cm, the other is a little large than remembered at 59cm. Are these still okay?
