The venue for Il Giogo Pass is "The Rock", Spec Ops Airsoft, Portland, Dorset. Sat-Nav: DT5 2EG

The Rock is over 50,000 square metres of working stone quarry and unlike any other UK airsoft site. It has steep ridges, valleys, sangars, shell scrapes, boulders, roads, tracks and very little natural foliage. This is a HARD site to play. As in the real Italian campaign, fighting through this terrain generally involves a painstakingly slow advance towards the enemy followed by frantic CQB. Apart from the unforgiving landscape there will also be obstacles, barbed wire, live minefields and mortars.

I have made the 3 hour trip only once to Spec Ops and glad i did. Even for a normal skirmish day it was a truly amazing site. We went on the hottest day last year and it was painfull. One of the sites greatest assets is that the Quarry is still being worked during weekdays so everytime you go there it will be slightly different. The normal site owner was very relaxed on FPS limits and in places you were engaging people at almost 80-90M away.

Nice Pics as well! :good:

I'm glad to say things have sensibly been tightened up on the safety front. Limits will be 500 FPS for bolt-action rifles and 350 FPS for anything else.

It does look very good, I think I'm going to make an effort to come down for this one even though it is a long way (and sadly The Mace plus the CiA July game both clash with other things I've got on, so I've got to play something!).

Cheers

I understand, Nige - having attended 4 events with comparable journey times "oop north" last year, myself - but I'm glad I did. Lift-sharing is always a good option. :good:

Looking forward to this even more now.

Sandy has the look I am going for, the old 'Italian rolled up sleeves' look. :good:

Yes that is the way I do it but have to find others in my area wanting to go as well, it has been a bit dry in that respect lately. :)
I have been to the 2 tunnel games in the South both good events.

One of the reasons I like people to have their location in their profile so I know if there is anyone new in my area.

Sorry, I'm not too informed on Brit kit regs.

BTW, it gets very hot and dusty in the summer. I think I need to get myself some KDs or denims.

Regs in italy! Lol... they seem to have worn whatever they wanted... :)

BD trousers and a nice aertex shirt will work just fine.

if it gets cold, put a jumper on... :)

the site does look amazing, as do the chaps in the photos :good:
:D

ive only done one event "darrn sarrrff" at ucap, and it was well worth the drive :good:

its just the dates no good for me :(

my company only has 3 staff, (including me) and it needs a minimum of two there to function . which has buggered up lots of games for me this year.

one guys away when this game is on, im away during the CIA shaulen event, and the minsk game, both which i would love to attend, and the boss will probably have his TWO hoidays this year meaning november will probably be out for me as well :(
