Intelligence has discovered the Germans are using a new variation of their Tellermine. For those unfamiliar, these are large anti-tank plate mines that carry 12lb of TNT - more than enough to take out an entire section.
We can be sure of encountering a fair number of these along Arrow Route. Some may be attached to tripwires, some may be attached to remote detonation wires, some may be booby trapped.

I am asking for 5 volunteers to augment 225 Field Company of the Royal Engineers, who will supply training on how to deal with the new variation of mine.
Please submit your application in triplicate to Coy. HQ

Cpt. C.F.P. Featherstonehaugh
1 Bt. Herts Regt.

Come along chaps, this Regiment won't tolerate slackers and ne'er do wells. You should be lining up for the honour of having your limbs blown off whilst defusing a mine

Seriously, this role will probably be one of the most fun to play.

And don't forget, you will also get to blow things up too! The RQMS has "borrowed" some 1/2 lb TNT blocks from the nearby US 337th Infantry division Engineers for you to use for this purpose

Come on, Sign up now, you'll really have a blast!

Having been Signals at Horn I'll maintain the Corps theme and step forward for engineer duties. Although it feels more like I'm standing still while everybody else is taking a step back!

Looking forward to it.

In addition to defusing the Jerries' big bangs, you'll be able to plant some of your own. :)

Heh, as long as it's the Brit things that go bang, not the Jerries' things! :giggle:

Good man. You'll get a posthumous award. :good:

We have now taken receipt of a consignment of TNT charges from our allies in US II Corps. Theses are to be used for destroying obstacles. These are NOT to be used as anti-personnel devices or as a substitute for grenades

I just dug out one of my original copies of Form W4012B, otherwise known as "How to Blow Sh*t up Officially", and scanned it in. Feel free to copy it and amend it from 'bridges' to anything else if you want paperwork to add realism...-- attachment is not available --
