Civilian Kit is perfectly fine and dandy
However I think a dragunov looks like a dragunov .
I will post on the kit loan thread to see if anyone has a rifle to lend, but if they are in civilian kit then a WW2 pistol is perfectly acceptable - or even a knife. Civilians will have their own objectives that will require more guile than fire power so I wouldn't worry about the need to keep up the Joneses on the gun front.

Don't worry mine only has the range of a spud gun, all good fun though
I rather think that if we ever wanted to do a pistols game, we wouldn't exactly be short of kit. Mine are all springers, generally with an effective range of ten feet.
