I am gradually sorting my kit out. Put some barrel spacers in the No. 4, but it is still a bit erratic compared to my K98 so I suspect I'll need to upgrade the hop some point.

The really big challenge is working out where to put all the stuff I'd normally jam in my pockets, when I'm wearing a kilt....

Call it 5 at present.

Cheers

Getting excited too, looking at the Italian uniform on the wall is making me grin :-D need to service the carcano though, range is terrible but at the moment I'm just leaving for my stag do! Rating 7 on excitement

Easily an 8 already, just back from 5 days in Normandy so I've been fully absorbed into WW2 events over the last few days - next weeks event is coming at the perfect time!

Much excitement tinged with anxiety,: the hop unit on my No 4 is disintergrating... I have one on order but not being 100% sure what the donor gun was (mutant non clone VSR) I am not totally sure it wil fit.

I have a clone vsr ,if you don't get the hop sorted let me know ,I'll be camping so we'd have the evening to bodge it in ,you could either give it back after the game or post me a replacement ,its part of a working gun so I'd need to replace it or put it back, anyway let me know.

Thanks, but while the hop looks like a VSR hop, it isn't. A standard VSR hop won't fit the rifle, the diameter is too large. I think the donor gun was a Well MB02 (It was sold to me used as a VSR clone before I knew better) so I have ordered the hop for one of those and am keeping my fingers crossed.

I just remembered this is happening this weekend!

Luckily uniform is ready as I've been re-enacting in it. I have 3 rifles to choose from, so one of them will work fine.

I may be a bit slower than usual, but I'll be there.

Excitement is definitely building, just have to buy a couple of bits and bobs and clean my boots (which I stupidly chucked in a corner and forgot about after Kasserine :slap: ). I'd say about a 7 at the moment.

oh there is nothing as tedious as ability, don't worry ;)

Finally getting to the writing point where I am enjoying it, it was rather late coming but pushes my excitement up a little bit.

Yes heartily looking forward to it, I regard these games as a 'must do'. Sunday is handy this year as it means I can watch England v Fiji :D

Yes, a high point of the year. I'll be wending my way slowly home from London tonight, so excitement levels will rise more then. One annoying thing is I can't find my old kilt pin, so if I can't find it tomorrow, I may have to have a flappy kilt. That will frighten the Hun :good:

Cheers

Oh God I just remembered I was supposed to send pics of my plume holder Craig, so sorry, did you get one sorted? Could possibly wip something together for you if you needed it in the hour I have tomorrow :-D

Just sorted my rifle, every now and then I get a flier but that inconsistency fits with the inconsistency of Italian ammo production so just makes it more realistic! A good 8 now as I dust the feathers with a feather duster......
