In the tunnels there is some ambient lighting which gives a great feel although there are areas of darkness which adds to the suspense. To that end a torch may be useful for searching for stuff in darkened rooms.
As we are striving for WW2 atmosphere we do not want any billion watt lumin SAS Blind your eyes torches to spoil the atmosphere. To that end if people want to get a torch period looking these are perfectly good adequate stand ins for German ones.

I am sure you pluck Brits will be able to source adequate Allied ones.
The Sfrankish torches are currently listed (in error I believe) at £300.50 + £3.50 Postage
I'm struggling to find a torch that comes with a battery and says it works, any ideas?
Tried SoF and Epic but both of those are quite ambiguous about whether they actually work.
If all else fails can I use my Cold-War angle torch (visually similar to the US ones), or should I start binge-eating carrots now?

Torches are very useful but you can easily play without one. If you can't get one don't sweat
Yeah I went to buy one of those yesterday then saw the price!
Out of curiosity what's you guys opinion on those plain black cheapo maglite style torches you get everywhere. Are they too modern or would they suffice?
Cheers,
Dejan.

Last year I used a old type US upright angled head torch taking D type batteries.
Might grab one of those for this then since I can use it for my Vietnam kit too.

That's the ones I was looking at, my Cold War British one looks just like that. They're pathetically underpowered.
Pathetically underpowered until its pitch black and then they are really quite useful. As it has been said if you don't have a torch, it isn't the end of the world but any kld style torch will suffice, just no white cree lights.

Underpowered is what I'm looking for to be honest. I don't want something too bright as the german style ones aren't particularly bright either. Any sort of light is useful in the tunnels to be honest. But obviously be careful where you use it. Last year many a German soldier was killed by us ruthless Russians by shooting at torch lights
