Of course 6 guys are easier to spot than one and not everyone is quite as willing/able (or stupid) as me to crawl through the mud for an hour to cover 40m.

meh, then they should accept failure and have to gap it in the charge - with cover fire and mortar attack. I would probably not crawl 40 meters on my belly (or if so, very slowly), so I would stay at the back not just bimbling around giving away the location of the person who would crawl on their belly.

The solution there is that the chaps behind suppress the defenders whilst the pioneers move forward to cut the wire.

Unfortunately we were under orders not to fire unless engaged. So myself and Nick crawled forward as best we could, unfortunately being 50+ and loaded up with pioneer kit it was more a case of crawling on all fours for me, not very stealthy :slap: So I let Nick do the last 10 yards himself as he is more "slightly" built he managed to cut the wire but was shot in the process.

When it came to launching the actuall attack it was not untill the 3rd assault we made it past the hail of fire and reached the wire only to realise that we were in a differant place to were the wire had been cut earlier :( so whilst I fumbled for wire cutters we were shot again. Should definately be the Volksturm for me

Sounds good...

In the scenario I mentioned you would have been able to fire though as you would have been engaged. :)
