What's the feel of the serge like? Thick/thin/corse/soft?

Pretty thick, definatly not loose looking, actualy sold the sample on ebay in 12 hours so cant feel the texture but the serge was roughish which i guess is correct. I was pretty shocked how good these were, got cloth and metal badges in stock and will be stocking more British kit soon depending on cash flow etc.
