An aversion to Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter games that dare to be different, interesting or vaguely challenging....

I'd love to come along to this one - it's a way away (everyhwere is, then you live in west Cornwall) but I don't mind travelling for it, the problem is that it starts on the Friday and I'll be working that day. If only it were 24 hours later, it wouldn't be an issue! I'll have a word with the boss and see what I can wangle, though.

Would need to borrow a weapon, but have an otherwise-complete US 82nd Airborne loadout. Would be happy to play as German too, if I can borrow some kit. :)

I'm up for this although would need to leave by about 4am Sunday morning - so can manage 28 hours or so.

Unfortunately for numbers - allied, either Brit para but perhaps more likely US glider infantry (even though the first gliders didn't arrive until 4am).

Cheers
Charlie

I have a small skewer hidden in the collar of my jumping jacket, and a razorblade in my gaiter, as well as my knife.

I could borrow some German kit. Depends a bit on size. Unfortunately have no spare weapon.

Gents.
After much debate over the last couple of days between the Organisers of Albany and taking into account the low, low number of takers for a bit of hardcore Airsoft weve had to make a tough call and move the Game to our Home Site in Neath.South Wales.

The Game will follow the same format as planned for Albany on C Day but will end on the Saturday night/Sunday morning for those who want to spend the second night relaxing over a few tins and Burgers etc.

Gutted dosent come close to expressing feelings right now. The cold hard truth of it is, with the numbers at present wed lose the feel of the weekend we'd promised you and in turn ruin any chance of generating numbers for future games.

Every one of you, is of course more than welcome to attend our site instead of Ceri and well show you what we had planned on a site some of you may hsve played on back in the day.
It may even be closer for some of you to travel to than Ceri.

Anybody whos paid a deposit and wonr be now attending please get in touch and well sort you out asap.

Either way, wait out for the pics of the Game in the near future.
We think youll love the 88 ;)

Daz.

Hi Daz,
Sorry to hear but i understand the decision as i have heard that the site is massive and small numbers would simply disappear.
I will still be coming and looking forward to meeting you guys as well as having a look at the 88.
Cheers
Lutz

Pleased youre still attending mate.
Would be a real shame to miss out on this one.
And yes absolutely still room in a tent for you.
Youre absolutely right about the numbers being swallowed in Ceri.
The only way around that would have been to practically stage manage troop movements and that would incur its own issues and done away with any spontaneity.
Look forward to meeting you at ours.

With reference to your point about Glider riders Charlie.
My sons loadout is also glider infantry and hell be there.
Were not worried about recreating down to the nth degree, thats nit what were about.
Providing no one turns up as a member of the Swiss Guard or as a Cylon then were happy enough ;)

Unfortunately, it looks as if I'll have to drop out. :( the extra distance involved and the fact lads I was car sharing with won't be going nearly triples my costs. Absolutely gutted and was hoping this would be postponed rather than moved. Hey Ho! I totally understand the position the Pathfinder lads are in. The dream of an all nighter, D-day invasion game continues to elude me.

Me and a friend *would* be up for this, but seeing the lack of Germans we could do with being leased some kit? Can sort myself out with a smock but if anyone has guns/webbing that would be suitable that would be helpful.

Thanks!

Dont write it off just yet mate.
If this scenario works as I believe it will well be putting this back on in Ceri in the Summer.
I understand with folks finances etc.being what they are that a lot of people dont want to run the risk of going to an "unproven" WW2 organisers game and thats fair enough.
Once weve got Albany under our belt at our home site and the word spreads from those of you still going well see a turnaround.
Its not the last youve heard of Albany mate.:)

mate, that's awesome. I'm in the process with a few others of gathering like minded souls to form a fighting squad of about 8. If the game is put on again, we'll support it!! I love the whole concept and would still come if it was financially viable (I'm off to Normandy for a week for the 70th anniversary). I really feel like I'm missing something special here. Good luck and in the future,if you need any support and I can help, just pm me :good:

Enjoy Normandy mate.
Took the entire tribe last year, unforgettable.
Very, very moving experience.
Thanks for all the support behind the scenes youve given on this one.
Well be in touch.

As the site is alittle more closer to home I'm abit more interested in going and more likely to get a lift

As endex is gonna be about 22 Saturday, is it a problem if people stay on site after to get some sleep? Sure many people wounldn't want to drive home after a 24hr game and I doubt I can get a lift home at that time

Thanks
JD
