I missed most of the "hunt" at the end because I was firmly entrenched in a load of dead (and very spiky) gorse bushes, ready to ambush the Germans, who promptly went a different way! :slap:

My personal "best" moments in a good day were cutting the wire entanglements whilst under fire and, later on, charging down Dean as he was trying to medic Marsha and killing them both at close range. If I'd had a knife, I could have got some knife kills too but, had to be satisified with close range Sten executions instead.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

I have to say, the "barbed wire" etc was a good element though we were very pushed for time to get it set up as we carried it. Might be a good idea to allow a little extra time and drive out the materials near to where they might be used?

I think the extra bits add so much to the game. I would like to have got the sandbags filled and a couple of gun pits set up as that would have looked great for the attackers!

I also really liked the crossing the minefield under fire using a knife to probe, nice! We would have shot you all but for the fact we knew it was a feint and were trying to keep our positions....

Yeah, I had an excellent day despite not getting a single confirmed kill.

My squad was excellent and did everything I asked them to do, valiantly dying whenever we got too close to the enemy.

An excellent first event for Wladek, Lipton and crew... the first of many I hope!

Well done chaps! :D

i had a witnessed 50+mtr , against the wind, pistol kill!!!!! lol we all stood open mouthed when the german put his hand up then reclined on the floor. one shot too.

another great moment was near the end when heide, stu and assorted poles chases the germans down the hill and along the tree line. pete 59 and i put in a classic pincer cut off. i couldnt shoot them as i had a rifle and they were only 25 feet away. buy the time i had prepeded a grenade, pete 59 had machine gunned the last 4 germans . job done. nice one pete.

(i look forward to recieving my long range pistol sniper award :giggle: )

Is it quite the done thing for people to nominate themselves for awards or chasing and shooting wounded enemy who can't run? Revenge is sweet Marsha.

A great day's airsofting Craig and Dean - very well done. To organise an event means you can't play yourself. This isn't a bad thing as long as you realise this and gain entertainment and enjoyment in other ways, such that the organisation and leadership become the 'game' - and to your credit to did extremely well taking on the pressures of thinking on the fly and keeping 30+ people entertained. :good:

Taffyjohn was as hospitable as ever and the site joyous both in its challenges and stunning views! I passed on the rabbit stew but I did have a go at pheasant which was a first for me!

Players looked as good as ever and kept at it right to the end although to be honest I nearly gave up a couple of times during the day but the breaks revived me just enough to bash on - feeling my age I think - so hooray to Oddball for carting kit about.

On a personal note: I forced myself to go with the K98 all day, Pete having sorted it out for me. I'm glad I did - for the first time ever I felt I was contributing to the battle with it by keeping people's heads down and even racking up some kills. Chuffed with that. And also got three pistol kills which NEVER happens - usually I'll draw a pistol and nothing happens when the trigger is pulled or the slide/mag is full of earth or it dies after the first shot.

Above all is was great to see many familiar faces and a fair few new ones too - hope to see you all again soon keeping the WW2 airsoft flag flying. :good:

Yes well done Craig and Dean for an excellent event, and thanks to Taffy for his hospitality. XSite really must be the best site we've played at.

I don't know where we'd have been without Oddball's jeep.

We had great fun as the 133t Bren Team and judging by the number of times we had to rescue Ranj, he certainly knows how to lead from the front.

Plus, thanks to the Officer's Mess for the sherry on Saturday night, which was very civilised.

Just want to add that i had a great weekend, the missions went well, the site was superb as always, and thanks to taffy for organising the weather!

Personal highlight of the day for me was diving over on the right flank to cut the barbed wire, while Pete was over on the left! That and shooting one of the last remaining Germans in the back as he ran down the hill!
