Hi all, just thought i'd make a welcome post on here, heard about this place, and ww2 airsoft through Gadge, and it sounds quite interesting!
It might even be an excuse for me to actually get my arse in gear and complete my german uniform...
Also, a quick legal question in case anyone knows an answer.. i have a rather lovely de-ac MG13, and it seems to me that there's a lot of empty space inside it, and the barrel is removable.
What would be the legalities of replacing the barrel and firing mechanism with the innards from an AEG? it's obviously not being converted to fire live ammo, or even blanks, but i wonder if it comes under the wrong side of the law because i'd be converting a de-ac?
anyway, hi all, hope to be shooting at some of you in the future! ![]()
welcome to the wonderfull world of world war two ![]()
re,, you Q about your de-ack, it is indeed an offence to "re-activate a de-ack" so your right in asumming its was,
this has been talked about on the bords, so have a hunt through,

I asked the same question about my de-ac MG42 so all the answers are in this thread http://www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/php/phpBB2 ... .php?t=376
But to put it in a nutshell, you can't convert a de-ac to fire anything even if it's only plastic BB's

Good to have you on board! Best of luck!

That would be totally illegal... I'm not sure of the sentence, but its quite possibly a minimum of 5 years behind bars.
If you want to use any real parts at all, make sure they've never been on a deac.

Right back at ya! ![]()
Edit: wow 3 posts at the same time!

Thanks for the answers people! had a quick look but missed that thread. Shame about that though, stupid laws getting in the way of my fun, (again!)
Looks like i'm going to have to start searching for random bits of furniture on ebay, and make a receiver and barrel housing for an AEG on the lathe. Mind you, if i'm going to do that, i may as well go for an MG42, rather than the MG13.
A job for the future then... ![]()
Sounds good... don't leave it too long though or the VCR Act will get ya for manufacturing a replica! ![]()
Heya Evo!
Dont worry though i'm sure we can find a place for your MG as prop in the HQ at an event or two!

hiya mate. ww2 airsoft is perfect for me as i've got half the german kit knocking around already, and it's not so anal that i'll get sarky comments about my hair, i can just tuck it in my lid...
I'm just looking at an M36 tunic on ebay to buy now, as it happens, as i doubt my Allgemeine kit would be suitable! ![]()
In my experiance their is only one workable solution to any problem.
BUY MORE GUNS
Well, in this case airsoft guns. You can get a resin body kit for an mg 34 or 42 for around $100 from here
http://www.cushmanpaintball.com/Airsoftpage.html
and a cheep AEG for the internals from
http://www.airsoftscotland.com/acatalog ... _Guns.html
Not sure if you can get the internal parts on their own cheeper but you can get the parts.
Hope that helps.

I'm pretty sure putting airsoft internals in a deac makes it a section 5 weapon and therefore carries a minimum 10 year sentence.

Read the deact cert that comes with the gun. unable to fire a projectile. put a gear box in it and you have reactivated the gun.
