Wotcha,

Thought it was about time I formally said hello.

I'm one of kroots mates he dragged to that Worthing resistance game.

At the moment as far as WW2 goes, strictly resistance. Going for the classic Maquis/former Spanish republican look.

Airsoft, played one game, avoided it for years as I don't need another addiction (and now I'm a bit addicted).

I won't qualify for buying my own weapons for a while yet.

Current Airsoft project.

Kroot at the moment is trying to organize us along the lines of some hodge potch communist back rebels somewhere in the 3rd world some time after the 2nd world war (generic commie rebels from a generic banana republic). I guess that makes him the commissar.

First though he has told us to get some black pyjamas  Time to practice some bad acting/dodgy accents and some over dramatic death tumbles I feel ;)

Once we err.. have that together (received generous supplies from our glorious sponsors) no doubt we will go Free French and/or British as a team for WW2.

Where I am coming from

Done a bit of larp (live role play/rubber weapons).

Played pain(t) ball a few times many many moons ago.

Mainly a table top role player and wargamer. WW2 wargame forces include, Polish 1939, French 1940 (wadda mean my tanks can only move or shoot!), Hungarians (or speed bumps for Russian tanks!), Italians, foot pounder heer with horse drawn support and I need to sit down and paint that soviet naval infantry brigade one day. Should give you an idea of the sort of player I am.

the silly questions

I'll probably ask in better places later but a few things I'd like to ask others right away.

On picking some interwar leather kit,

How do you deal with the copper alloy rivets, most of mine are green and very mucky with Verdigris. More importantly, what not to do!

Same goes for that dusty "i've got a mould" look on the smooth side of leather. Again, what not to do is likely more important.

At the moment its an old damp toothbrush and rub hard. But I'm looking for long term care and salvation.

German Bergmanns/MP28 sub machine guns or Lanchester SMGs, were there ever any airsoft versions (or will there be?). Or are these something that would be a custom job? If I had to pick one weapon to do me for all the intended looks, that would be the one!

To the tune of "Mademoiselle from Armentières"

Napoleons army ran away, As you do
The guard stood firm for Frances Pride, As you do
They said the guard will stand and die
But we heard what their Colonel cried
It wasn't pretty I tell you.

Resistance is fertile

Now what you need to do is combine the two, and get a nice Polish 1939 uniform... Go on, you know you want to.

Oh, and welcome by the way. :good:
