Hi, I'm Nick.
I have always been interested in WWII. Since my first ever WWII movie, I believe it was either Kelly's Heroes or The Dirty Dozen.
Anyways, I am interested in doing a standard, classic WWII US loadout. I've got advice from the good ol' boys on Arnie's, and I've got it down.
Weaponry-wise, I'd like to be a bit different and try something cool, any suggestions?
*Note: I am 13. I live in PA in the US.
EDIT: I forgot to tell you guys this, but I am also very interested in a French Resistance loadout also.

Hi Nick, welcome to the forum.

French Resistance, is a very interesting idea. Picking up old clothes from yard sales and charity shops and the like will give you a cheap loadout. Gun wise, you can go for whatever takes your fancy, as not only were they supplied by SOE and OSS but also made use of any firepower they could "liberate" from the Germans.

I believe I have watched a documentary stating that yes, the OSS and other such organizations air-dropped the Resistance weapons. I also believe there is a pistol called a Liberator? I think. It's a small, cheaply made pistol.

I'm not sure on what to do, a Bren gun would be awesome, but it wouldn't fit with US.

yes their is the liberator, but I dont think you can get it unless you convert something yourself.

Your right in that the Bren wouldnt fit for us.

It wouldn't.
I might grab one of those POS mini pistols (from a flea market) and convert it.

Im not sure that would work mate, Regardles of the VCR Act, I think you would need to hack too much of the orgiginal away to make it a viable gun, dont forget most of the slide and rail house the spring that provides the power.

Don't forgot I live in the US of A.

I might just make an extremely bigger-than-the-real thing Liberator.

Syd, read the first post again ;)

Regarding the Liberator pistol, IIRC it was a single shot .45 jobby. The idea behind it was that you'd use it to knock off a Jerry then steal his (better) weapon.

Yep.
But besides it being probably not worth as much trouble as it will be, it will be a nice little fun project.
As far as we know, has anyone made an Airsoft Bren?

Yeah, I read it, but it didnt register.

It would be interesting to see how you manage it, but I cant see how it would be possible, Good look with it.

Hows that work, surely to do a french accent as best as you can, you'd need to be erm french, thus it wouldn't matter what you did, you'd always sound fake to a french person ?

Just buy a string of onions, a beret, a nice stripey jumper and a bicycle ...... note I am kidding incase anyone thinks I'm being remotely serious

Hi there, welcome to CiA

Someone built a liberator pistol from a 'Bell Tokarev TT' pistol - there is information on this over at the US WWII Airsoft site - he admit's that due to the single shot cheapsoft springer it's not really usable in the 'field'

but I guess it would look the part as a prop for your French Resistance impression

welcome to the tardis :D
for kit ebay would be a good way to go-vintage clothing stores that kind of thing. French kids in the 1940s would have a good shirt and then their normal ones -very often though only part buttoned and definitely no buttoned or oxford style collars. Wear a wooly pully, shorts-or plus four type with long socks, large floppy blue beret, tie, leather shoes/ankle boots, maybe an FFL armband (basically white cotton band with the French flag stuck on it with FFL and the cross of lorraine in the white canton) do please avoid the cliched Frenchman look (dark trousers, beret and striped T shirt with string of onions), jobs a goodun! As to weapons well as a member of the Resistance you can have anything within reason! (MP40, K98, allied weapons etc) Just enjoy!
