Hi Sam, and welcome to the forum. If by "club" you mean airsoft site, then this link might be useful. http://www.airsoftmap.net/
If you're new to airsoft, I would suggest going along to a local site and giving it a try. You can rent guns at most sites, so you would not be spending a large amount of money to see whether you liked it or not.
That said, all the events organised on here are a world away from an "open day" on a site - there are usually stringent ammo limits and people are encouraged to work in units, rather than go off on their own.
I presume you have an interest in WWII, so take a look at the kit guides (menu at top of page), and see what you like.

You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
hello and welcome.
most world war two events usually have people who will help with lending kit and guns.
a very friendly bunch on here

hi and welcome
yup try some regular airsoft to see if you like it and get familiar with the guns performance, then if its for you then book on one of the games on here, people are happy to loan kit so you dont have to spend a fortune unless you want too.most of us on here dont play together except at these events so there's no ww2 airsoft site as such, were a niche group within airsoft for those who prefer ww2 history and roll play to the modern airsoft scene that can be a very competitive and elitist scene and we hope to be more welcoming and helpfull.

Welcome mate I spent a weekend in your lovely area last month
We have a game in North Wales in June if you don't want to travel too far.
I have asked people to bring spare kit to help some of the newer guys out.

Free speech is expensive these days!

Hello and welcome.
To echo the comments above, it is a good idea to try out some regular airsoft before shelling out on tons of kit and to get a feel for how it works. The WW2 events tend be more immersive role-playing type things than regular open days though.
Oddballs game near Chester in June isn't too far from Cumbria.
Cheers
