Hi all ,
Can't believe iv stumbled across such a great forum .

I have been into airsoft for about two years travelling to the mainland every two weeks to get my fix /stress relief, in that time Iv changed my loadout several times much to the bewilderment of my better half ( what goods a hobby if you cant buy things) and it gets worse or better depending on which one of us you ask , I have opened the first airsoft site on the island called ISLAND RECON , Its been running since early October and we already have 50 or so hardcore members and the hire guns are snapped up every game day .
The island also boasts a healthy re enactment community albeit medieval I am asked regularly if we will be doing any ww2 days and alike , when I finally got time to look into this I found myself hooked big time and iv already started on loadout number 8 "sorry Joanne" I am going to start with the British para I have the smock patt 37 webbing and I am drooling over a MKV sten , my son is going for the German Falsemickajagger or something like that "he likes to shoot at his old dad " .
Anyway we loved the pics of the D-Day landings and we hope to bring some of our members two a few mainland gigs in 2008 to see what its all about and I hope to meet some of you along the way. Ill be spending some time on this forum too as my site and I will no doubt benefit from this pool of knowledge

Thanks Kermit, Im looking forward to taking part in one of your fine looking events .It seems the VCR has stimulated interest in airsoft which is great for the sport .we held a free skirmish for the police on our first day and they loved it and are supporting us all the way , they reward kids who have been good by sending them to us for a free day of airsoft fun .
We have also been asked by them to do regular 999 days and bring all the services together for some good old fashion bonding "how cool is that"

Interesting, there seems to be an increased number of "Police days" going on. I can think of 5 (now six  ) sites that have run them. Anything that gives the "boys in blue" a better idea of the responsible use of Airsoft guns is a damn fine idea, so good on you!

Thanks for the welcome Chomley our web site is http://www.islandrecon.co.uk its not too flash at the moment but it does the job for now, the site we are on at the moment is an old motocross site finding woodland to use is a bit of a problem on the island as so much of it is protected , I had a stroke of luck recently and have secured 16 acres of woodland the land owner has given his blessing for us to erect bases so we start building in January and I hope to be open there by the end of February . Its not your 500 acre site but it will accommodate 100 people nicely and your not going to miss the action .Once the game area is respectable we will open a small on site shop , all profit from site and shop will go to make the site as cool as it can be and no wages are given to anyone including myself ,I have a job that pays the bills and at the weekend I get to hang out with my son and some great new friends
so in that respect who needs money im already a millionaire.
