Hello Chaps, so I'm new to airsoft in general but having always had an intense interest in the Second World War I am unbelievably excited to find a group of people who specialise in this field!
At the moment I'm putting together a British kit, not sure yet whether to go down the para route, SBS or Commandos but if you can think of anything interesting as a role let me know! Probs looking at an officer outfit, enlisted man just doesn't suit me ![]()
At the minute I have 37pattern webbing (belt, straps, general utility pouches) a water bottle, BD jacket and trousers, oh and a choice of short puttees or anklets...
Any advice will be much appreciated!

Stay with Generic Brit Inf you will have more flexibility when it comes to games. You can always add para etc later

it may not be glamorous but a regular private is what you want to be , officer roles are sort of held by the game organisers or very experienced ww2 players who mare asked to take a command role in the game, they also tend to get a lot less shooty time as they are in charge of a side or unit.
if you start with infantry then you only need to add small changes of kit to become airborne etc , plus infantry kit will get far more use that the more specific unit's.

Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......

Cheers chaps, having read around a bit before joining I was going to stick with a basic setup for now. As far as the officer side of things goes I'mm have the tailored/open BD and some pips to justify it but I'm not expecting to jump straight in and take charge of everyone... ![]()

Hello and Welcome.
With a generic Brit loadout you will be able to attend most games.

Allo allo
Welcome to the forum
. As the others have rightly said, whatever faction you choose, generic infantry is the place to start.
I've fired a bullet on every continent. Nearly hit someone, too.

Hello and welcome,
easy enough to morph British officer into OR, keep your jacket done up and don't turn up at an event badged up as a Lt Colonel
Basic infantry is the basis for all the fancy stuff - paras, commandos, airborne etc. You just need a different hat for those.
If you have never, ever done Airsoft before I would strongly recommend going to a local Airsoft site and try playing a game or three to see if you like it before you drop a ton of cash. While open day games don't bear a huge resemblance to WW2 games, there are some similarities and it gives you a chance to see how things work.
Cheers
