That's ok. Finmere is actually a paintball site that is used for airsoft once a month and is owned by the same people that own Hilton Park and Redditch (and I can lay claim to starting all 3 of these sites for airsoft). It's not a bad site but is a bit small in my opinion and you can't use pyro's at certain times of the year due to local hippies/do-gooders. It's got some nice WW2 features, like a dummy Sherman, a couple of blast bunkers and the remains of some period buildings, as well as THE best shooting range you'll ever see at a site.
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

Finmere is my local site too, unfortunately there are only two of us who 'do' a WW2 impression there. More would be great though!
I have to agree about the shooting range though. Top stuff.

I am actually in Oxford itself...as i said i am new to all this - where is Finmere Airsoft?
It's just under 20miles from the centre of Ox City. There's already another guy called Ian ('BattleAxe' on the Finmere site forum) who goes to Finmere in period German and sometimes Brit gear. http://www.FinmereAirsoft.co.uk

Thanks to all for their posts - What is the situation with Finmere - do you just turn up & play or are there set events to go to?
It's mainly just open-days/weekend skirmishes. I got to Gunman Airsoft (Cambridge/Suffolk) for my main open-days worth of 'softing and all WW2 events.
