Well there was a Japanese American unit that fought for the allies in Italy. There's even a film about it.
If you ever want to do some re-enacting then my re-enacting group do Chindits and we'd love to get some Burmese or Ghurkas involved!

Heh... well the re-enacting season is mostly in the summer months so that means its okay for us. We can generally look at the guys in wool struggling with the heat.
We do usually have a training weekend out of season though... That's when all our Indian made jumpers and greatcoats start to get some use. It is cold up in the Burma mountains sometimes you know... its not all hot hot hot! ![]()
Yes, I enjoyed "Go For Broke". Its got some good combat sequences, some reasonable acting and some nice comic moments.
I've not seen Merril's Marauders...
yep, those pics of the essex reg in the snow were very pythonesque yith. 
I will have to look it up... Merril's Marauders were actually trained alongside the Chindits...
