Glad to welcome another northerner :good: best advice is to get to a game, people will lend kit if you need it. With regard to buying kit, stick to a more generic look, and early war, as that's more likely to suit more games, and check out the kit guides. If in doubt ask, as there's plenty of knowledgeable people on here that are always willing to help.

German

Russian

British

Japanese

Probably American airborne sort of style , and I'd love a m1 garand as my first gun

Operation Autumn mist is in the midlands in December, that's as far north as the games seem to be recently, well apart the ones near Birminham, but that seems all booked up as far as I know.

willkommen!

Ask people for advice especially on kit there is a huge wealth of knowledge on here about everything.
my advice get generic Infantry kit first as Aiborne etc don`t feature in every game more likely to get a game in US Infantry then later splash out on the other stuff as you kit builds and I am sure it will.

Most of all get to a game. there are too many people on here collecting kit never play which is a shame.

greetings fellow yorkshireman!!
il echo what everyone else has said. the midland is as good as it gets for us up here. but travelling down south for games is well worth it (like this weekend coming at combat south). Garand's are lovely guns, you wont go wrong with either the ics or G&G.

As far as loadouts go, id recommend getting a GI setup first and then an airborne uniform. There are more games for infantry than airborne so its a good place to start and you get to blow your own side up with the 34th at events too

p.s i see your trying to aquire a gun for the games, id highly recommend a spring bolt action or an electric gun of some sort to start with, especially with us going into the gas unfriendly months.

Ye iv heard that cold weather is not friendly with gas guns , I'm after ether a garand or a carbine as a first rifle

your safest bet are the ICS and G&G garands. M1 Carbines are gas and a bit tricky for a beginner to get to the right setup FPS wise for gaming with. If your budget is a bit tighter though a King Arms Thompson would cost you less than £200 and would be a excellent place to get started from.
