Hi Guys
After doing a bit of research Ive decided to take the plunge and have a go at WW2 Airsoft. Ive had a go at airsoft with my son who loves the game but as a military history buff I would get much more out of the experience doing it this way.
Unfortunately money is an issue, I can proberbly afford to get the basic kit for a Wehrmacht Impression over the next couple of months and then add to it later.
The weapon would take a bit longer to scrape the money together for, in the meantime is it possible to hire or borrow weapons at events? My son has a modern assault rifle (not sure which type) would this be frowned upon untill I can afford one? Also hoping to get my son involved so hiring/borrowing may be the only option if Im to get involved this year.
Thanks for your help
Hello and welcome to WWII airsoft. You will find that many events advertised on this forum have a kit / weapon lending thread - usually for free, on a bend-it, mend-it basis. It's not unheard of for a player to attend his first event and to borrow everything!
I've just written an article on German kit - what to buy, what not to buy. http://www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/so-you-wanna-do-german
Build it up bit by bit - you'll get there. Whereabouts are you based, out of interest?

Hi Steiner
Thanks for that, yes Ive already read your post, very helpfull. I am based in Stoke. I will probably try to get some of the basic kit first and then check out the events.
Cheers
Willkommen
I too have 2 lads 12 and half and 15 and we have been to a couple of events now, (Check out OP Sealion last year and the very sucessful Il Gigio pass game last weekend) Get the basics and there are a lot of people who will lend kit and guns on a Bend it mend it basis. We are really a great bunch in that department.
Where are you based?

Welcome! Don't worry about the kit, get to an event and, loan the kit! We get a lot of people who think that they need to shell out before getting out and playing. The reality is, as Steiner said, that we have loads of very generous players who can kit you out, head to foot! It's a good way to dip your feet into WW2 gaming, before committing to buying gear.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
If you can make it to the Schaulen event, there's a good chance we could kit you out. Have a look at the date and location, see if it is ok - it's an awesome site. If you're interested, let me know your chest and waist sizes, and we'll see what we can do.

It's already been said, but there's loads of good advice here so dive in and I hope it works out for you
Welcome to the forum yes Porta and I need a few more Germans for Anarchy in August ![]()

Free speech is expensive these days!

Many thanks to everyone for the warm welcome and help offered. I will check out the dates and see what I can do. Thanks again!
hi and welcome
as has been said, get stuck in.on the note of kit,get a little at a time but the proper stuff, may be better to invest in guns first then uniform as people generally have more spare uniform than guns and "you bend it ,you mend it"may be cheeper and easier to sew up some trousers than a broken gun.plus you can use the guns for general airsoft as well

Hello and welcome. Lots of good advice, I too would advise getting a gun first, build up your gear slowly. Maybe see you in August.
