Kilt covers not always worn as scaleys pics form arnhem and pics of major mcphereson show..

Guys as said this is a WIP intended to inspire folk to get into the right period and archetypes for this game rather than just turning up in a june 44 outfit.

Theres lot s to be done with it yet, i literally put this all on very quickly to get an idea, i was moving kit from room to room and thought i'd cobble together a Gordon impression.

Gadge have you got a kilt apron/cover?

I've got one to go over my kilt, but to be fair it just makes you look like you are wearing a beige skirt, besides which according to my Grandfather,it was the first bit of kit to get thrown over the side as soon as the troopship set sail, being quite lightweight unlike the kilt, the used to lift with the wind and get in the way when you ran, and as he said ,if you didn't have one they couldn't make you wear it.

So any one else going to join Stof and I in the Gordon Highlanders?

I need to check my soft headress is correct.

I've a navy/black glengarry with royal blue top ball, black tails and balck 'rose' . no dicing on it.

I think thats modern kit as my kilts a modern bandsmans and it came with that and a doublet in a dark green with white piping.

edit:

Doublet (i dont have the 'swallows nests' and mines badged as a colours sgt)

My training corporal at Catterick (cpl. Johnson [highlanders] was a Gordon and was happy for me to be an honoury Gordon ;)

Ive got the white spats too, nearly binned them but at 50 quid a pair im glad i did not!

I'e got a plain black glengarry as well, some of the early Gordons photos show them with the undiced version, certainly the pipers wore them undiced,I think mine is a modern pipers one ,but I reckon it will do,its badged as Gordons,I have a spare black kilt if anyone else wanted to go Highlander ,you could always wear the kilt apron over it.

I've already got bits n' pieces for early and mid/late Gordon's Impression - just trying to find a TOS/Balmoral Bonnet to fit, going for 1st/5th Battalion.

if you wanted to buy, got them the next day after ordering

At the outbreak of the Second World War, the 1st Battalion was at Aldershot as part of 4th Infantry Brigade, 2nd Division;[39] accordingly, it deployed to France with the British Expeditionary Force. It moved to Lecelles in September, and in May 1940 moved into Belgium during the Battle of France. The British forces were heavily hit by the German breakthrough, however, and fell back towards the coast; the battalion was deployed at Le Paradis, near Béthune, on May 25th to protect the flanks of the Dunkirk evacuation.[40] After being heavily hit by armoured attacks, the battalion ceased fighting on the afternoon of the 27th.[41] The adjacent unit, the 2nd Royal Norfolk Regiment, had almost one hundred men taken prisoner and later shot by their captors in the "Le Paradis massacre".[42] Recent research has suggested that around twenty Royal Scots may have suffered a similar fate.[43] The remnants of the battalion were reconstituted in Bradford in June.[

Dare I ask what you guys will be wearing underneath? What's the prize for getting the first BB under the kilts?
