There seems to have been a bit of confusion over the German role a this event.
The troops who engaged the Commandos at St. Nazaire were a mixed bunch and our scenario has taken that into account. If you want to go German you can choose between five (count 'em) stylish impressions:
German Heer - The port's garrison was made up of rank and file infantry troops, so normal feldgrau, nothing fancy
Coastal Defence - Heer for those who like to tinker. Basic feldgrau tunic but with naval buttons, buckles and insignia
U-Boat Crew - If you have a set of Brit denims then you have the basis for this impression. Insignia was a mish-mash. Sometimes no insignia, sometimes KM shoulderboards with metal or cloth breast eagles. Add a sidecap and Bob's your uncle.
Ship' Crew - Summer or winter cotton uniforms with tally cap. Most items can be had from Epic Militaria for less than £20
Naval Infantry - One for the obsessive compulsives. Blue/black woolen trews with double buttoned tunics and associated bling.
As always, most things that you might not have can probably be borrowed via the Kit Pic thread.
