That's fine then. I can't make it this weekend because when we wrapped things up on Sunday we spoke about when we could go to X-Site and Chommers said that we could leave it until June-July, hence I sorted things out for this weekend.

I wish you guys would remember what you've said! ;)

I'll read through the resource stuff and come up with a back story to base the game around. I'll then have to pay the site a visit in June sometime and write the full scenario.

Very productive day.

I stopped in the afternoon to have a battle with John's punters. Not that bad really, some good players there among the noobs (although John hasn't a clue how to run games - I'd be surprised if he retains players for a period of time). A lot of interest in the weird German playing with them today, a lot of anticipation for Ex-Site's big game (heh, I didn't realise at first they were talking about our game - man they are getting excited!).

A second site visit certainly gelled the gazillion ideas floating in my head - I'll post up an aerial map and some photos I took today to assist with planning. But it's definitely possible to play Yanks and Brits separately on Saturday and Sunday yet combining them for a finale battle as the Germans stream toward the coast to evacuate to Italy.

We talked about going for 30 a side for this game - Brits & Yanks vs Germans (Heer/Panzer/Fallshy - there were no SS on Sicily), Italians (well, Pete 59) and fascist partisans.

Camps sited in one place (where the current safezone is).

John says be sensible about pyro - suggest we have no need to go over 10g. All pyro must be used over the first ridge so the lake/bridge and Mnt Etna is fine.

BUT big potential fly in the ointment. Fecking walkers. There are three public footpaths that cross the playing area - four times we stopped gameplay for long periods as the nylon-clad spackers crossed the site at a snails place making no effort to speed up even though it was clear they were spoiling someone else's fun. I suggested to John we put warning notices at the styles in the hope that they find an alternative route or at least leg it across the site. Maybe severed dogs heads would do the trick? Unfortunately, the finer the weather, the more walkers.

How do you find out when game days are, there's nothing on the website, do you just contact John?

I'm free this Sunday so thought I could get up there for a looksee. Either that or I'll head up on June 14th or 15th.

Ex-site's website says this: "The Game is for WW2 guys and gals only."

Anyone object to me contacting him with a more inclusive line?!
