OK, what to do then now we are down to three?
Staff we can cope with but the biggest problem is props. I'm worried that the thing that singles CiA games out from the 'others' is planning, props and signage and this game is going to be sadly lacking!
No large artillery piece is a crying shame but a pair of proper usable mortars would save the day. Plastic drainpipes painted green doesn't really cut the mustard but looks like all that can be done in the time remaining.
I'm out of time now - away for a week, then got to catch up on a week's lost time over the following two weeks and I've got three big time consuming projects on the go
I just hope the punters don't feel shortchanged and that Taffyjohn isn't underwhelmed too...
Can't do a Nebel, but I can do a couple of mortars - and they *will* look good - Once they are emplaced, and surrounded by camo nets, ammo boxes, and other shite, but something has however just occured to me - how the hell are we moving this stuff around the site?
On another "man down" related point, i'm going to have to look for a 2IC on the german side, now the Abwehr have decided to send Guy to deepest darkest Afrika - any suggestions on who could be roped in for this?
When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........
Cool, these would be prop mortars not firing ones as TLSFX presumably?
We would have had a problem shifting kit anyway as Guy wouldn't have had a vehicle BUT no worries, John has a 4x4 jap thing that he keeps on the farm for site use - so we will use that!
Other than that then I don't see why we can't put building (and moving stuff) into the scenario. We have plenty of playing time and chaps like to do stuff not just shoot. Get the punters to construct a mortar emplacement...
Either Che or Pete Dunn would be up to the job of 2IC I'm sure. Maybe divide forces by Fally and Heer?
Rockets + tubing = mortars

Yep sorry about this /well pissed off about this . Knew I'd get sent to wogga wogga land eventutally , but was deperately working it into September. Unfortunately got ordered today to go so shall miss both Husky and Victory . Since I'm "on trial" till November and like the £000's each month find it hard to put up a real reason not to go other than I would rather kiss Kermits boots than go to 419Aidsland ....
PS doubly pissed off as I missed Haggard as well , know that these two events would nake up for it . At this rate I'll be stuck with Webbys game only until Wotan
BTW no signage is a really daft idea ....we are known for it and it differentiates us from open days / other WW2 efforts. Not to have some is a really crap idea, i hope you reconsider.
One possibility would be blagging Josh's mortars (the working mortar was really good in game not just as a prop) but the snag is that
a) don't want any favours from Josh
b) 'favours' from Josh cost money
Or possibly Tony's mortar. If he would lend then there would be a logistic problem getting it from there to here (unless PD or Poacher would convey?)
I'd rather fire the round's from my sphincter than invole Josh .....
Heh, you won't be there to offer your sphincter!
Still, I'd dismissed that, what about Tony's though...
Considering we've already lost one (cheap) field telephone in Wales, i'd rather not lose an (expensive) bit of a mortar as well - especially one that belongs to someone else!
OK, I need a design spec, and i need a budget.
Put simply, what do you want it to be able to handle? - Thermobarics dropped down it? - thats not too hard, pretty low pressure. Big ass thunderflashes are a different story though.....

Point taken...
Budget - as much as you want to spend (we have plenty and it's a long term prop)
I think Tony made (or had made) the charge holders so we need to source those from him, along with the specially made double bang pyros. I expect Tony would have the spec of barrel tube as well (it didn't look anything out of the ordinary to me).
I'll draw a diagram from memory and post a scan up tomorrow...
Hmmmm, off the radar for a few days and we're a man down. Sheeeiiitt.
I'm flat out at the moment too. Have been for weeks. Timing is very bad for all this!
Chommers, regarding signage. Can't we just bring some of your old signage and overlay it with paper?
S
Looks like Guy can make it now - passport is short dated so can't get Visa arranged in time. Yay!
Old signage with new covering is new singage!
I just figured that we'd be able to paste new stuff over the old stuff.
OK about Guy, but I assume this means the Nebel still can be done as it can't be towed....
Guy won't be able to transport it so no large artillery piece will be possible.
