Just wondered whether it would be worth allocating less than £100 of funds to something more civilised for toilet facilities?

For events weekend events it's inevitable that a no. 2 situation will arise! Girls don't like digging holes (and may be a disincentive to come) - hell, I don't like digging holes. On some sites digging holes is difficult (Ex-Site being one of them).

I though this would be expensive but it's not - up to £50 max for a tent (and could be much less but a larger one could be used for something else as well, booking-in tent say)

Portable loo and solidifying bags £35

I don't mind roughing it, but it's fair to say many others do.

The only issue I'd have with this is that taking the stuff away is not pleasant, unless, of course, it can be buried locally.

Yes, I didn't like the idea of the flushing liquid things but the jellifying bags seem a good idea but have no experience of them. Still, cheap, quick and easy solution.
I'll volunteer to do the cleaning/disposal if it is beyond the pale for others...

Um bollox idea IMHO complete waste of money- it's up to the site operator to provide the facilities. It's never been an issue to date ....I don't see it as a issue now.

It might be worth asking some of our regulars for opinion.

Maybe in the new members area, if we are planning one.

This from John:

"There is a real toilet on site but the wrong end, we will have some up for Husky for you near the safe zone."

"Crap" idea ......

We run 2 at most 24 hour events a year ....this is not an issue . We don't provide burger vans , yellow clad marshalls or the other trappings of gaysofting , and are numbers are small enough not to have an impact.

Anyway good to see Taffy going to spend some of the 1200 sov's wisely, good call Stephen .
