Keep your tent organised, other wise you end up wasting time and loosing things, not that good, it can ruin your weekend.

If not using a camp cot then a roll mat with a thermorest wrapped in a blanket makes for a very comfortable nights sleep. :good:

Not to mention a good airbed. And a pillow. And as much bedding as you can carry, easier to throw off a blanket if you are too hot in the night than it is to find something else to put on it if you are too cold.
Keep your kit that you don't need for the night in your car.
And have the means to brew up when you get up - the world looks so much better after a coffee.

You should be able to park your cars next to your tent which makes life a lot easier :)

I hadn't thought of that, so not really. The area that we have is a big field alongside the runway, as far as I know the camping area will be halfway along the field which should give you the shortest walk to the toilets and food area, appx 150m. it will be part of the main event field as well, although the public will not be allowed access anywhere near the campsite. It's a bit confusing to explain but you'll see when you get there.
I'll have a chat with Terry who runs the ranges tomorrow and see what we can come up with.

Ok thanks for that,.

Now when we arrive are we looking at going to the Ranges or as you mention Jimbo the camping area is on the airfield area? Looking at Google earth they are on opposite sides of the road?

The area we are using is next to the ranges on the same side of the road.

bring a pillow slip.

Stuff clothes in it, use as pillow.

To keep tent tidy, folding boxes, you can get cloth ones from pound shops, I use them all the time.

If the toilets are that far, pack a fabric conditioner bottle (empty). 1.5 liters should do it. For when you get caught short by your unpatriotic bladder in the night.

If you need a pee and it's dark there's a perfectly good hedge, no need to bottle it, but good tip for future reference :good:

Due to travelling train it looks like we (kroots' crazies) will be all plastic this time :(

I did want to bring my polish poncho-tent (which has served me well at Glastonbury and 2 larp events this year) but the tripods poles will just take up too much room in the car on the way back.

We will all be shielded by the military vehicles, and the plastic campers, me included will be closest to the hedge. Terry from the range will be parking his campervan there too so we may have to drape some camo net over it to hide it!

Not big enough to cover your pikey wagon but you're welcome to use it fella. As you're here do you have any festoon lighting we can borrow for the land girls catering are we can borrow?

If I have enough room in the car - and its a very big IF - I have 2 x 30 foot diameter green parachutes I will bring along.

Think I've figured how to get these there, one will easily cover 2 cars or a camper/caravan ,at a push each would probably cover 4 closely parked cars, they are green cargo parachutes and about 32foot across ,very light and if I remember rightly still have a mass of cordage on them to tie them down.
I'll bring them if you want to disguise some vehicles as a stores dump.
