Had a great weekend at my 1st Gunman game! Thanks goes to Dog Co for their
Hospitality and for taking me under their collective wing!
Saturdays game was a bit disjointed as we had no orders or radio
To get any! That bloody fort took some winning and the jeep assault
Highly entertaining! And praise goes to the lone italian who hed us off
For ages with some smart sniping!
Todays game was far better with a great skirmish on the ridge
Line by the camping area! A group off krauts dug in and grinding
Us up on each assault. Even smoke, grenades and heavy fire failed to
Dig the sods out! Another jeep assault followed with the same outcome
Shot to bits!
After that we set off on a fighting patrol which took us from the boat
Over the ridge and thru the thorns! We hooked up with Josh
And some other Brits and set off for the tank traps! After bumping the
Krauts on the ridge line guarding the traps Dog Co's own major general Patton
And I held back the grey tide to allow the tommy sapper to blow
The traps! Most excellent!! And there ended our day! Some excellent
German defence and sniping! And mention to all those who made
A newbie very welcome! Tho one complaint... Too bloody far away and too
Many brambles and thorns!

I enjoyed myself, despite getting less kills than a plastic Tellermine all weekend.

Amazing to see about 20 Fallschirmäger at the event - looked great! Nice to get to know a few guys better - Angel and McVickers. (Thanks for the hot water!) :good:

Great site, which was so big it was possible manouvre and patrol around without bumping into fire fights. Great gamesmanship all around with lots of tactical fighting. A really fun event. Made all the better by some good weather. Well done Josh and Co.

Dunno Del, we didn't play on it or the dunes.

Hi all, got back at 4pm today...that was a long event and drive :slap:

Cheers to all for the fanastic turn out and epic battles across the whole site. Very hard work this one, but worth every hour :good:

Never got to the beach Del as the senario didnt need it (it would have been a nice atmospheric walk but would have taken up the very precious hours of light we had) and with the extra 100acres we got inside the main site, it made the site big enough to keep the senario contained. There are still dunes and NO mile long walk so win win.

Sat we tried to put the radio packs in the field in players hands, only 2 guys that wanted to do it so Sun we took the radios back in house and all was good. Jonny mate, there were piles of orders being thrown around on sat but as Doug will tell you, D company lives by the seat of their pants and play as a unique blistering ball of chaos which leaves all of us in suspension of what will happen next and you were in very safe hands there bud.

a huge thanks to all my staff, who yet again pulled out all the stops to make this event as tight as it was. I mirror the comments about level of game play and can't thank all of you enough for supporting our events and playing in the spirit we try to achieve.

big lub x

Strange, I thought Gunman Games were using this a factor in it's pre-event advertising? I'm sure I read a thread on this very forum regarding the beach being a 'major' part of the event.

Actually Angel, 5th post down was this...

its NOT a beach landing game bud, but im using the dunes and then site for the struggle inland.

But, that aside, I'm glad you had a good game and that the weather held for you :good:. Nice photos too. I would have liked to have come along myself but, I was at work.

All I can say is that it was definately worth crossing the channel for this. :good: I'm still pondering about what I like the most, the socialising afterwards or the skirm itself, but as a whole I had a wonderfull time! Really one of the most enjoyable events I ever had.

Thanks to the organisation for a brilliant skirm, and to all the players for being such cracking lads! :good:

It was an absolute hoot this weekend... It's been a long time since I've had this much fun with my clothes on. Who cares if Josh didn't use the dunes... To be honest the gameplay didn't need it and the scenario played beautifully.
Thanks to all that made it so...

Which is all of you that attended. :good:  8)

As for myself, had a great weekend, starting on Saturday on a good sneaky patrol, to get intel for the Brits and a great attack on the fort, to be followed by a suicide jeep attack with the mounted .30 cal and BAR what a laugh! I even had. Bb go through my rear screen of the jeep! So I know we had a hail of guns at us, big thanks to our mates " the Dagenham Nazis" ha ha( our name for them!) allways fun to play against and drink with them.
Brilliant gaming by all involved and onother Gunman cracker! Thanks Josh and the crew! See you soon

Well, I seem to be mimicing what everyone else is saying, it was a fantastic weekend! I enjoyed getting to play with the fallshirmjager, and picked up a few more bits.

Gameplay was terrific, didnt have one complaint, and a ton of good memories. I will be back for sure.

Kraut, thanks for the pictures, was good to play with you. Is there any footage to go up on youtube?

Tedd

Unfortunately I had to leave the game early on Saturday afternoon to go and deal with a work problem!

Up until then had a great game with some excellent firefights around the German CP and along the ridge. Managed to get a good few M1 helmets ringing with the Ding of a .40 from my trusty K98 sniper rifle. I think I managed to "head-shot" someone in the groin too! My apologies to whoever that was!

Highlight of the morning was seeing my prototype Tellermine 35 take out half a squad of Brit commandos. now that it's been battle proven, I shall be making a few more I think!

I'm just really gutted to have missed the social and the Sunday gaming :(

Role on the next one! :good:

“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."
Adolf Hitler, November 1942

"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."

Oh god, you had to mention the mines!

My squad of 9 men found and defused 2 buried shoe mines :good: and then one of them to slip and roll down the hill straight onto the bloody mine we could all see. 6 Dead with the call of retreat :slap: and a moment of fail that the word fail isnt big enough for
