Game setting

1st of May 1945 the very last week of the war. With the Western allies advancing to the decided occupation zones and the Soviets storming into the heart of Berlin German forces either fight to the bitter end or try to surrender to the west. A few hard line German units still belive in a final victory with the rumours of wonder weapons and a alpine retreat.
So are story begins in ottensen near hamburg on the banks of the elbe River. At the end of the war a heavily industrialised area of Germany. Amongst the standard industrial complexes of a country at war one in this area has been noted of specific interest to both the western allies and the Soviets. Air recon by both the Western allies and Soviets has spotted what is thought to be a secret weapons development and test centre.
The German forces in the area acting on orders from the last remnants of the German government in Berlin are desperate to secure the technology and scientists within the secret testing area. With the aim of form a final resistance in the Austrian alps and winning the war with the rumoured wonder weapons.
