Just like to say that as much as I'd like to be at this first event , I shall be clocking up one of those birthdays with an "0" at an end on the 24th , and therefore will be abroad getting pissed the following weekend . A shame , but there you go

Hi,

I am looking into attending this event if that would be OK. I have never done WW2 airsoft and so have posted a few dumb questions regarding what is needed. Here are more slightly refined ones...

I have decided to kit out as German. I have seen tunic and pants M36 to M44 on ebay for around £50 plus postage plus £40 upwards for boots. I have seen a link for plastic fancy dress helmets for £10. Does it matter what year of uniform or insignias/ rank etc are on the tunic for PBI as I have no idea at the moment as I havn't bought anything and want to keep the cost down.

Do the gaiters and normal black army boots look wrong, is it worth spending the extra on the jack boots to feel more the part or are jackboots only for certain regiments?

Will the plastic helmet look stupid and be a waste of ten quid, anyone used or seen them?

What belt and pouches are considered mandatory, I was looking at black supposed correct belts and a bread bag. Any advice on this and are cheap canvas satchels correct?

I keep losing the PBI weapon lookalike rules. If I don't get a period looking AEG etc in time, I have MP5pdw and a MG36 that can have a flat top rail with a burlap or hessian wrap to disguise it a bit, thinking of MG3. Is this OK or are there specific weapon types required for this one?

Gun rules here (under Reference on the menu at the top of every page):

I wouldn't bother with a plastic helmet - if economy matters then get a field cap instead.

Well I can't help with German kit questions as I don't know much about the subject... however here are a few pointers.

Plastic Helmet... There was discussion on this item recently elsewhere on the forum and the general consensus was that it would look crap.

Generally on other kit... if you don't have anything then you may as well consider getting it right or nearly right first time round.

Weapons... Well neither of those really suit... but they do fit with the CiA look-a-like rules.. which are here: http://www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/pages/kit-guns.html

Am I better removing all patches etc off my denison for this event? I have Sergeant and a set of wings on it at the moment,.... since we're gonna be glider infantry, are the wings now obsolete?
