D-Day: Infinite Mischief
June 6th – 0048: The bows of thousands of ship crash through the rough sea in the channel, whilst 400 C47s drone endlessly overhead carrying nearly 12,000 paratroopers to their destiny; as the planes head over the coast, heavy, relentless German antiaircraft fire arcs up in to the sky. The planes shudder and groan from the explosions, tracers zipping past the wings, many are hit and go down in smoke and flames.
The inexperienced pilots of the IX Troop Carrier Command dive their planes right and left to avoid the flak. Paratroopers are thrown from their benches, piled in the middle of the plane. The red light goes on, ‘STAND UP, HOOK UP’…600 feet from the ground the troopers bail out, even as they do the planes pitches violently to avoid fire, scattering the paratroopers further.
As he drops, Lt. Archie Groves repeats ‘So far so good, so far so good, so far so good.’ He hits the ground, the air still full of the sound of the C47s, the smell of burning aviation fuel and muzzle flashes erupt from a near by copse identifying a Kraut Flak gun…he lays low whilst removing his harness and Mae West then heads out to cause mischief. Looking for landmarks, he identifies a church steeple, attempting to orientate himself to find his rally point…
Alarms shriek all over the Contentin Peninsula, rousing the German defenders from their sleep. Patrols are sent out to confirm unsubstantiated reports of paratroopers landing all over the place! Jackboots crack against cobble stones as they muster outside their barracks, rifles and machinepistols cocked and ready. The countryside is now crawling with Germans, attempting to find these ‘paratroopers’…
The 729th Infantry Regiment, part of the coastal defence division, defending the Eastern coast of the Contentin Peninsula, was a hardened regiment comprising elements who had served on the gruelling Eastern Front. Well supplied and rested and with plenty of ammunition, they stood between the vast majority of the paratroopers and their operational objective.
Will the Wermacht allow US troops to rally or will they destroy the force and disrupt the invasions...disallowing the allies from gaining a foothold in France.
All specific objectives, additional information and criteria will be announced on the day.
Price up shortly although you can guarantee it will be good value.

Wermacht 729th Regiment VS US Airborne 506th Regiment
Obviously preference is to kit which accurately portrays the units involved however all are welcome at an Ex-Site game.
Basic kit requirements are tan/green pants and top and appropriate footwear (boots) in relation to this, no trainers allowed. Appropriate headwear must also be worn, for US this means ATLEAST a jeep cap but preferably an M1 Helmet. For German troops this means at least a field cap or O/S cap but preferably a variation of the German helmet.
Green one piece overalls are available on the day if required.
Weapon requirements
Obviously WW2 weapons as preference, please see CiA's 'looks-like system' for reference.
Ammunition Limits are as per normal CiA limits and high capacity magazines are allowed.
For further queries please ask on this thread and I will answer as soon as possible...

Free speech is expensive these days!
I've a lot of time for TJ, just trying to weigh up work schedules - which pays bills and sometimes allows for fundage to attend/fund my rifle outings.
Edit: Inflammatory comment removed.
Personally, I'm working that weekend, so, as much as I enjoy John's hospitality (and lovely rabbit stew!), unfortunately, I won't be attending.
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

The first casualty of war is innocence.
The first casualty of airsoft is your wallet!
I will be there with my jeep as usual and maybe field gun if finished and working.
I also hope to have a good Kubelwagen replica along also with field gun.
Maybe the tank will be used as well.
Let us know if you are planning on bringing anything so we can work scenarios out better

As the topic name states, this event has now been cancelled.
Apologies to anyone who had made plans to come, please stay tuned for a WW2 event at Ex Site NEXT year.
