looks more or less the same as a stirling.

You can do a silenced sten and use the silencer to give you an bit of barrel lenght.
Also the south staffords got a few dozen patchett smgs (very early stirlings) so that could be an avneue to consider.
I had a silenced one from warren i picked up 2nd hand. hated it as it felt far to long so would want to make the shorter one. patchetts not a half bad idea though suffers from the same problem of it being a small body and side loading mag

Well, right now the only WW2 themed guns I have are a Thompson and an M1 Garand AEG. Although I'm planning to do some saving up so I can buy a Lee Enfield conversion kit from Warren. So I guess my choices are fairly limited.

Nothing wrong with the Thompson, it's what most of us have already.

cheers

http://www.airsplat.com is where i got mine from. I'm still partway through the guide on how to convert the drum.
Was thinking of "acquiring" a cheapo Aps2 and attempting an Enfield with Bodge. But, if someone finds a way to make Sten's, I'm sure there's room under the bed for one more weapon...
On the WWII front, I already own...
M1 Carbine (8mm, not sure if this is ok with your rules etc),
Kar 98,
AGM MP40,
TM Thompson,
M172 Broom Handle mauser,
&
P38.
What side arm would be acceptable for the S.Staffs?
(apologies, I'm not too hot knowledge wise on the Brit weapons front).
Also, would the Staff's have had assault engineers or something similar?
Sidearm:
S&W Victory Revolver (use a Tanaka M10)
Enfield No2 Mk1 (or Mk1*) (no airsoft available)
Webley (no airsoft available)
Colt M1911A1
Browning Hi-Power (ideally the version with the lanyard ring and removable stock, but tanaka's M1935 is usable.. but CRAP)
I suggest the M1911A1 or a Tanaka M10
Just checked out the specs on the M10, 220fps with 134a and only 12 round capacity. Low fps is the only thing that bothers me.
I don't suppose anyone here has one and could comment on it's skirmishability?

both myself and gadge have the M10's, and as there are no blowback parts we run them on green, which hasn't seemed to affect them negatively so far. Game-wise, they're a sidearm, you're not going to be using them at particularly long range anyway, but they do need heavier BB's as .20's tend to float all over the place.
Overall, a nice gun, and one i'm very happy with.
I have one and think its bloody great. run it on green and get good fps out of it and ant say I've noticed a problem with .2g bb's. even got 5 kills with it at wotan when my high standard was out of ammo. can get a good 60-70 shots out of a cylinder on a avg to good run.

The TM .45 fires a reasonable distance, however the spread is fairly poor. Sounds meaty though, especially in the tunnels.
Count me in
... got most of the South Staffs gear anyway. Would you guys be able to show a pic of what the complete set looks like?
Almost forgot, using '28 Thompson, or .30cal browning.

Were doing kit pics very soon.
Be great to have you on board webby!
The south staffs didnt have combat engineers, that was job of the Royal Engineers (parachute).
The staffs were a regular infantry battlaion who were transported by glider and therefore wore paratrooper kit.
Things you'd find in a airlanding battalion.
Officers (webley or sten)
Ncos (sten or no4)
Riflemen (sten or no4)
2" mortar (mortar and sten or rifle)
Piat teams
Bren teams
Signallers
MMG (vickers) teams
6pdr anti tank crew
Drivers
Stretcher bearers (regimental band)
You do get a pioneer platoon but this is more in the way of engineering than combat role.
Attached you would have
Medical officer (form RAMC)
Armourers (from REME)
Cobblers and Cooks (RASC/RAOC/ACC)
We're going to concentrate on getting a strong rifle section or two togehter first and then if (and it woudl be great if we can) we get more than a dozen of us we might be able to do some specialist roles.
Ideally a rifle section is 10 men but with airborne forces casualties on landing meant they could be as small as 6 men.

Ah, forgot to add my 1911 to the list
D'oh!
So it's a Tanaka M10 then, I'll just break the bad news to the Mrs!
I'll be a Rifleman then Gadge (slightly obsessed with Assault engineers atm), gotta get the base requirements in first ![]()
I have a thompson,so i wouldnt mine joining! But i wont do any loadout that Has a Maroon or Green beret.
If its passed 9 there is a 95% chance im pissed.

Ok just didnt want to portray any reg that has had to earn there Headress

Its wwii mate it has *nothing* to do with earning a headdress.
We're doing south staffords, they were airlanding airborne troops.
They went in on gliders, everyone in the 1940s who was part of the that division got a maroon beret wiht no 'earning ' required.. cooks, bottlewashers , clerks and infanteers all included.
If you extend the dont wear it if you aint earnt it logic to wwii then nobody would be able to wear anything.

Ok just my Dad wouldnt allow it
Il get me guards kit ready!

Were not doing guards dude.
Although i'm happy you're doing Brits PBI probably isnt for you.
Basically the south staffords are my old regiment, i've had my kit approved by the regimental museum, the south staffords wore maroon berets so we do to.
We dont wear para wings as the staffords were not paras.
We're doing a historical impression, not to wear the badges and symbols of the staffords makes it pretty pointless.
I'm sure your dad objects to you wearing a *para* beret, you wont be you'll be wearing a *staffords* beret it just happens to be the same colour.
