Cheers mate, I initially wrote that for 'safezone' but it went bust before i sent it to them so i thought it would be a shame to waste it.

Well having thought about it I've decided to drop the Recce Corp idea & just go straight for S.Staffs. I emailed Sabre regarding RAC helmets but they're out of stock now, I should have all the rest my kit by the end of October & then I just need to find an chance to get to a PBI game.

quite right chaps.

glad to have you on board.

Looks like we have nearly two section in PBI now and using 'airborne reality' sections we probably do have two given that a paper strength section of 10 men airlanding was usually six or seven in the field....

Hi mate, they're with me, but the die stamps are at my folk's place. I'll be going over there one night next week though to pick 'em up.

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for Sabre to get more RAC helmets. Pegasus do awesome repro airborne lids for about 90 quid. Sure it's a lot but they are really nice. Put it on your Xmas list and get a £5 maroon beret 'til then. :D

Talking of things becoming rarer, RAC helmets are shooting up in value now, i've got one, but i'm keeping it as-is, rather than converting it, as soon it wouldn't surprise me if it starts being worth getting on to the value of a repro airborne lid.

Tis true , i've nice 44 dated RAC lid that i'm keeping as is, i was going to convert it but it seems pointless as they may soon be valuable in their own right.

You're out of date... they're £110 + £5 P&P

I was looking at those the other day, expensive but then the RAC helmets are getting quite rare.

cap badge question, did all south staffs have hessian backing or was it just a platoon thing?

I understand that they they didn't.

or was it just a platoon thing?

I don't know why it would be if they didn't

Plus it shouldn't be hessian, it should be holland cloth...
