I had a bitof mad thought earlier.
What woud lbe the legality of casting a stick grenade in some firm but tough rubber or silicone that had a hollow core into which a slim pyro could be inserted?
It woudl give the pyro extra weight for the throw, woudl look realistic and if the worst came to the worst and it fragmented is not going to hurt anyone.
However do i fall foul of the law doing this?

Had similar thought about using the wooden potato mashers , it's been done before and caused injury . Anything you make would be too unpredicatable, and there's always 9mm BFGs if you want the weight .
Aye but BFgs are 60 quid each and having had one lost and one stolen at phoneix its not something you can afford to lose really.
I would never have considered a wooden one for the very same fragmentation reason, I'm thinking of rubber of the same constancy as pencil eraser

The questionis youy can legally throw a rubber dummy grenade, you can legally throw a pyro, cna you attach the two togehter?

Now on this thought my design was simular with the rubber handle and half tin now the top half of the tin would be made from card holding a pyro inside now when the pyro explodes the design would take the blast out the top destroying the top. when you just collect the stick at some point and replace re useable top and pyro.

The dodgiest I'd go is using a catapult to launch Mk5s to get some distance , however not many site owners would appreciate that .
TBH you can get quite a good throw with these new ball grenades that are knocking around.

Any sort of mod... putting it in boxes etc... is dodgy.
Yes this does mean that I think Major's powder boxes are dodgy as he doesn't currently have his pyro qualifications... however he does know what he's doing... even if he isn't officially qualified at the moment.
I suggest if you want to know about this you find someone qualified to talk to... (major?) lets no have pyro modding discussions in public please?

Yes, it IS illegal to throw pyro (comes under one of the Fireworks Acts). Regarding "modifying", well, thats up to a court of law to decide.

Projection of "exploding devices" = illegal as hell (Section 5 for that one!)
Projection of smoke/flares for "signalling purposes" = Legal
